Safe At Last

Neither my wife or I previously wore a helmet. Earlier This summer I noticed a red giro fixture helmet in the garage with the bike stuff. Not gonna lie it looked pretty good. Since it was not mine it had to be my wife's although she never mentioned getting it. Since she usually rides by herself it was easy to envision her wearing it on rides all the time since it that would be the responsible thing to do. Last week we were going out for a ride, as i loaded the car i got her helmet. When we got to the trail as we were getting ready i handed her the helmet. She pushed it away and said "NO. My mom bought me that. I should have told you but i was trying to block it out. You can wear it if you want.” As i was about to put it in the car I decided to see if it would fit my head. The helmet fit my normal male head and with some minor strap adjustments i was able to get a great fit. I snugged up the chin strap as my wife giggled and said i looked good with it on and we set off. During the ride It actually was very very light and comfortable very well vented and did not feel hot. It felt safe and i am sure i was riding harder than usual as my wife told me to slow down at least once. When we were done as i was taking it off my wife asked what I thought. i told her i liked it and will be wearing it again. She said she was glad it was not going to be a waste and get some use and she was excited i would be safe. Hope to never test it but it honestly feels very safe and substantial
