Rated 5 out of 5 by from I could only dream of this as a kid Well built, good rebound off the backboard, and love the adjustability. Good installation from Dicks' contractor. Only minor flaw I have discovered is that the spring in the breakaway rim could be a little firmer. Love this goal!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrible Customer Service with installation company We bought this basketball hoop as a gift for our son. The Dick's store was great to deal with and then the nightmare began with the installation company. We have been calling and calling and finally they gave us a date which they never showed up for. Then they said they would be there the next day and guess what still no installation. Dick's now just keeps having the installation manager call us and they keep pushing it off for another week. It has been well over three weeks now with no progress. We would like to rate the hoop if it ever gets installed. Our advice, either install it yourself or find someone that can do it and steer clear of the company Dick's uses.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but not indestructible as claimed I bought two goals and just purchased two more for the church I pastor. However, once again the sales person stated that "these goals are industructable!" I specifically asked about dunking. " yes these are made to dunk!" However, when one of the goals broke, the company would not warranty the weld on the backjord that gave way, stating that a dunk must have broken the weld. $600 to purchase another backboard!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very sturdy!! We purchased this hoop recently and love it! The assembly of the pole was pretty easy and luckily the base was already in place by a previous owner of our house. It did take 4-5 people to install the backboard onto the pole as it was so heavy. Once installed though, it is a very solid system. I also like it has a mechanism to level the pole so if the cement installation isn't perfect you can make up for that. The company has better systems with thicker poles and larger backboards but for the casual basketball player this is more than enough and much better than the portable systems on wheels or cheap in-ground systems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the price, it's wonderful! I'm sure there are 'better' hoops out there, but to me, this was a great value and is very nice for the price! Both my boys love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy so far Bought the GS54C in March and installed it myself in mid April. Very Happy so far. Kids love it. Very easy to adjust height to match their abilities. I found the construction to be high quality, and the installation was manageable with help from two people when hanging the backboard. There's movement when you launch a 'brick' at the rim, but to me it's an acceptable amount. Sturdy enough for dunking as well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Vibrating Backboard, Steel Poles Not Thick Enough For the amount of money spent on this hoop, you'd think it would come with thick steel poles and arms to prevent significant backboard vibration. Unfortunately, it does not.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from GOOD SYSTEM, BUT PROS:1- All parts firmly and safely packed…2- Excellent assembly instructions…3- Excellent In-Store ServiceCONS:1- Very noticeable pole flexing…2- Backboard padding cost extra…3- 54” Backboard is just too small…This is an impressive system for most people and it looks great. Following the detailed instructions the assembly went smoothly. First, the anchor bolt assembly was installed. Using extra cement, I made mine larger than the directions called for. After a few days for the cement to cure the pole parts were attached together and the pole lifted and bolted to the anchor assembly. Then the backboard was attached to the pole using the tailgate of my truck and three (3) strong folks. A few more installation incidentals were completed and the games began…Right away I noticed unexpected backboard movement on shots. I checked all the connections and saw no problems. A closer inspection revealed that most all the backboard movement could be directly attributed to the pole flexing. I then checked the pole’s specs and discovered it was made of 14 gage steel (ouch). Perhaps most folks would not be disappointed with the movement; however, I am. Also, without padding, the backboard’s lower corners are sharp, particularly considering the height adjustments. At extra cost I installed the universal backboard pads.Considering the above factors, with backboard padding, I can recommend the Goalrilla GS54c. This is good system and very much satisfies my grandson and the neighborhood. But, personally I’m disappointed. After additional research and learning all Goalrilla anchor systems are the same, I have ordered the Goalrilla DV72E1 that comes with a 7 gage pole. Maybe, that’ll make me happy (?).
