The GeoPress looks great on paper, but the actual user experience is a mess. The amount of force required to press the water through is ridiculous unless you’re on rock-hard concrete. Any softer surface and the whole thing just sinks while you struggle. Even worse, once you finally complete the press, the inner cartridge gets practically suction-locked inside the outer shell. Pulling it back out is a fight every single time. Twisting, yanking, breaking the seal—it shouldn’t feel like a workout just to get a drink of water. This isn’t a user error; it’s a design flaw. The bottle is also super heavy, making it the opposite of portable. For a product marketed toward travel and convenience, the whole system feels over-engineered and poorly thought out. If you want ease of use, quick access, or true portability, look elsewhere. This thing is more frustration than hydration.

Shipping box had no damage. Inside original packaging was torn, retaining band holding item to packaging clearly removed, and the product had moisture inside. This is the type of product you don’t buy “slightly used” for full price when you’re trusting it with preventing disease and sickness. I have heard amazing things about this product. It was recommended to me by professional survival instructors. Buy in person if you want an actual new product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Iam very happy with my Grayl GeoPress. I will be using it when I go backpacking in the Sierras. In the near future it will be taking the Grayl when I visit a country outside the USA.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My partner and I used this as our sole water filter for 10 days in the wilderness. Pros: It can act like a water bottle. You are able to fill a reservoir for camp use in a reasonable time (not the quickest, not the slowest). You can use it while mid hike. It has withstood a porcupine eating all the rubber off the outside. Cons: It is not great for large groups. The advertised filter rate of 5 L/min is highly inaccurate (more like one press per minute which would be 700ml per minute). Can be hard to balance while 'pressing' if ground is uneven. Palms can get sore if filtering significant amounts of water.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used my son’s while hunting in CO. Worked great, Lifesaver which the entire group went out and got our own. Ready now for next hunt! Able to filter on the go and not carry extra water.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Grayl for a trip to India after a colleague who had visited there recommended it. The water supply is generally assumed unsafe and all drinking water is bottled. I ran drinking water through it just to be safe, and it works amazingly. Can’t wait to take it hiking for a more normal use case.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super fast and easy to use. I was able to filter water without taking my pack off. Plus, I was able to filter three Nalgene bottles in about a minute. Total game changer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] love it! this is my second time buying. I bought one for my camp about a year ago and just bought another for daily use. Why not have purified water all the time?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to lower our plastic bottle foot print while glamping (rv camping). We go thru a lot of plastic bottles (yes, we recycle them) since we do not drink any camp ground water. Basically used this for morning coffee water or to take an extra jug of water along on hikes. I found it relatively easy to use. After all, how complicated can it be to fill it up and push the filter down. However, it does take considerable force to push that filter down. And, more times then not, water squirted up around the edges. If that plunger is not squared up just right, water will come up between the containers. No big deal if you are dealing with relatively clean water but could present a problem if unknown water quality. The end result was that the water tasted just fine but remember, we are starting out with potable water. I have not used this on stream or river water.....yet. I will update this after using it on unknown water quality. All in all....Solid product, easy to carry, should last a long time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this filter! The process is super easy and fills up all of my water bottles quickly. I haven't had much experience with other water filters, but while I used this filter and my friend used his squeeze bag filter, I was done filling water bottles well before he got through his first bag. I would highly recommend this for ease of use and not having a lot of different parts/pieces.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for a trip to Oregon and drank straight out of a waterfall! It was awesome!! The water tasted so good! We had 3 people on the trail and I was able to refill everyone else as well as myself 2 times! I felt like I was really prepared having this with me.
