Thank You For The Replacement Filter
The new filter worked like I remember, thank you for sending a replacement for the filters that were extremely difficult to press. Love my geo press both the Ti and plastic are great. Use them for backpacking but also for some every day uses.

Meh
I don't know where they get this "8 seconds" to 24 ounces of purified water. First of all, this brand new filter took just over 20 seconds to fully press - that's pressing it on my kitchen floor using my 200 lb body weight per the directions. That's still not bad, but it's not "8 seconds" either. And, according to grayl, This brand new filter is over 2/3rds of the way to needing replacement, if as they say, it needs to be replaced if it takes 30 seconds or more to depress. Next, you're not getting 24 ouces of water out of a press. 2-4 ounces of water is trapped below the filter and never gets pressed through so you're only getting 20-22 ounces of purified water. In a hot humid environment where you need 3-4 liters of water per day, that ends up being a long time spent for finding water and constantly processing it. That's ok if you're staying in one place by a water source - not so much if you're hiking. I keep these as part of my home hurricane kit, but there are better and easier options.
