Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike with plenty of potential to be upgraded and made better. The bike is amazing, I have taken it for some rides that you shouldn't do on a bike and it held it's own and kept going like nothing happened. I strongly recommend that once you purchase a bike from Dicks you take it an actual bike shop and have them get everything in proper order. I let the dicks store worker go over the final checks and the brakes were loose, handle bar wasn't aligned with the wheel, the rear caliper was dragging, and the shifting was a little sluggish. Other than that it has no issues at all. Very happy that I was able to snag this bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike.. no, it does not weigh 42lbs This is a great bike to hit the trails. The weight description is grossly incorrect. It is not the lightest bike because of the large, wide tubes wheels and the fork but it is NOT 42 lbs like the description states. More like 36. The components are very nice for the price. There are other Pantera models like the Comp or Elite that offers more for more money, of course. I upgraded the pedals, grips and seat immediately but that is normal for me with any bike. I particularly like that the frame is tapered up front to accept newer and more aggressive forks if you choose to upgrade at a later time. The triple triangle frame is a beast and very well made but not in the US. One gripe I have is the rear dropout is 142mm that still uses a 9 mm QR instead of thru axles. However, if and when you upgrade your wheels, all you need to do is get an adapter or find a wheel to that spec. I've driven my bike through pretty aggressive trails and it works great. As planned, I am upgrading components as they go on sale (already have tubeless wheels, tires and got a fork). I could just leave the bike as-is but making it mine is fun for me. I didn't want to spend money on the higher end GT Panteras. I purchased this bike on a sale that made it a no brainer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from feels solid. I bought this bike a couple of weeks ago and so far I have to report that it rides great, feels stable, and handles very well for a larger mountain bike. I've had past mountain bikes that cost over $1,000 and I'd say this compares to them very nicely so far. For the money, it was a value driven choice and I'm looking forward to enjoying it for a long time to come.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice bike but not well constructed We purchased this bike from the Dick's in Murfreesboro. The bike was built in store. The 1st time taking it out on a trail the pedal broke the threads were stripped out because it was not properly tightened. It was obvious that it was not assembled correctly in store and now we have it at a bike repair shop being fixed which is costing even more money. The bike repair shop even stated it was not assembled properly in the store and it could have caused a bad accident. It is costing us an additional $200 to have it properly gone over and repaired. We bought it 3 weeks ago.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Falling Apart Got this bike on sale and knew going into it that the components were of lower quality for the big box store. After a few weeks and about 50 miles I have had to replace the cassette due to the 9th gear ring being shredded. Also, the bike mechanic let me know that the derailleur set up was for a 32 tooth cassette and the bike came with a 34 tooth. When the original went it was replaced with the correct cassette. Due to continued issues with the rear derailleur, it needs to be replaced along with the rear shifter. Going with mid grade components it is not cost prohibitive. The tires are pretty much worthless on slightly damp trails. With that being said it is an entry level bike which will be replaced in the spring. I should have just paid more at a bike shop. Lesson learned.
