This super absorbent polymer works to replace the equivalent to eight 50 lb bags of sand when combined with just 16 oz of water. Did The Job

Don't be like me and fill the water first because you can't see how much of the basketball tank is filled. I recommend adding half the basegel first, add water, swish it around before adding the remaining gel

Has been in place for about a month now, including now in an arctic freeze. So far so good, no freezing and expanding of the base. Easier than sand and prevents freezing with just water.

What A Great Product Idea!

Better Than Just Water

This makes the base sufficiently heavy enough it won’t topple over. It’s better than just adding water, but not as good as adding sand. Definitely easier than sand, as sand is extremely difficult to pour in. If you live in an area with high winds, I’d recommend you still add a weight on top of the base even with this product.

Froze And Cracked Base.

Don't waste your time. Cracked the base in first winter leaving a mess to clean up.
