Stabilize basketball goals, umbrella stands, poolside nets and more using the H2OLD BaseGel. This super absorbent polymer works to replace the equivalent to eight 50 lb bags of sand when combined with just 16 oz of water. The resulting firm, stable gel is mold resistant and freeze-thaw durable for use in any climate.

This makes the base sufficiently heavy enough it won’t topple over. It’s better than just adding water, but not as good as adding sand. Definitely easier than sand, as sand is extremely difficult to pour in. If you live in an area with high winds, I’d recommend you still add a weight on top of the base even with this product.
