The Old Faithful Of Kayak Footbraces

I have been using Keepers for years as the go-to choice for my kayaks. Well made, simple design. Easy to install, easy to use. I've used other designs, but I keep coming back to the Keeper Footbraces. They've been around for years, they'll be around for years. I was well pleased with the purchase of them through DSG. The price was reasonable, shipping was free and delivery was extremely fast.

Doesn't Fit Eagle Talon Kayaks

As stated in earlier reviews, these will not fit eagle talon kayaks. These were ordered from a store location by an associate in the outdoor section. I was assured they would fit but when I got home I read the reviews and realized they wouldn't fit and they don't. This is the third set I'll be taking back. I will be contacting Field and Stream directly to get a part number.

Universal Fit

I bought these to replace the foot brace system on the Field & Stream (F&S) Eagle Talon 12 foot kayak. Kids accidentally dislodged one of the F&S foot pegs and it sank. Dicks doesn't sell any replacement footpegs and I couldn't find any "perfect fits". The Harmony fits well but you have to insert new holes and seal the old ones. I used goop to seal the holes and also used some self-threading screws.Originally, I salvaged some foot braces off of an old Perception kayak. But, they didn't fit the F&S insert. So, I went with the Harmony.I also modified/cut some foam (from a noodle) and gooped it to the back of the foot pegs so if the kids dislodge these, they'll float.I hope this review helps others who might be thinking of replacing their F&S foot brace system.
