Quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice quality and very compact. A little expensive but very nice. Got for motorcycle camping and thinking it will be a nice addition to my camp setup.

Nice Addition

Easy assemble and take down. Light weight. Nice addition to backpacking and quick camping set up. It has already been on a trip and planning to take it on another in a few weeks.

Lightweight (Kinda!) And Great Design!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I spent a lot of time researching, reading reviews, and looking at this cot and it's competitor. I'm a lightweight backpacker, but was intrigued by the idea of sleeping better in the backcountry. This cot is easier to assemble then some of the reviews stated, but the issue I had is that for those of us using slanted wall tents (I.e. pyramid tents), the cot's elevation means your face is close to the tent wall, and more condensation as a result. Also, you MUST be on a flat surface; my first night I kept sliding down with my sleeping bag, as my site was on a slight decline. Four stars because the company makes great chairs ( I have one), but some notice in their listing of better results with tents with more perpendicular walls would be helpful. I decided to return the cot, as for the weight and utility, it's simply not practical for me to use and frankly, is beyond a " luxury item!"

Better Than Expected!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Packed this cot in to elk camp this year... will never sleep on the ground again! I was amazed at how comfortable, light, durable and fairly easy it was to set up. I paired it with a lightweight insulated mat because we were at about 9500 elevation and morning temps were at the freezing mark. This cot will go with me on all backpacking trips... the added weight of a cot...though only 2.5 lbs...is worth a good night's sleep!

Very Surprised

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was nervous about buying such a lightweight cot since I a bigger guy, but this thing is very sturdy and comfortable. Was very surprised in the quality.

Nifty

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Assembly was simple but took a little man-power (nothing too intense). The cot is extra long and felt supportive/comfortable. I appreciate how light it is and how well it packs down. Glad I splurged and am looking forward to taking this bad Johnny on upcoming camping trips this summer.

Awesome Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great cot, looks extremely well built like all of my other Helinox products, packs a bit big for backpacking and bike camping though. I can see this being perfect for multi-month trips for mission work or work in forestry areas though, just not where you're hiking this thing on the daily.

Exactly What We Need

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this for car camping to replace the air mattress--we want something that won't collapse on us in the middle of the night. The cot is easy to set up, lightweight and is super compact in a nice case. In fact, my husband likes it so much, he's going to take it on his next backpacking trip. (We're older now, and sleeping on the ground is not as easy as it used to be.) We only bought one to make sure that we like it--we are definitely going to buy a second cot. A few notes: ● Cot is super lightweight considering the size. ● Size is a bit large for backpacking, but if you need something more comfortable, the extra weight is worth it. We bought it for car camping, so it is going to save us some space from our large cumbersome cot, but is a bit larger than a rolled up air mattress (and no air pump/batteries needed!). ● Relatively easy to set up. The last two cross bars need a bit of strength to put in, so keep this in mind if strength is an issue. ● Instructions are printed on the cot--no paper, nothing to misplace, and super easy to follow. There are also several online videos on how to assemble the cot. ● Quite comfortable. We haven't slept on it overnight, but tested it for a bit after we set it up. It is firm with a bit of give in the center.

Worth The Extra Pound As Compared To The Matt

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love it, even though I was trying to shed some weight in my pack. After a 10 mile uphill pack it was nice to have the cot to sleep on. well worth the cost and extra weight.

Fantastic Camping Cot!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing cot! And perfect for my needs. I bought this last summer to sleep on while I was camping in a tent for six weeks of field school in Kenya. I'm a 5'3" not-super-strong gal who brought a cheap tent to get beat up by the elements, but splurged on this lightweight cot. It held up beautifully to six weeks of constant sleeping and sitting on the canvas--not to mention leaving it set up in my tent during the heat of the day all day for many days in a row before packing it up and setting it up again in a new location, and surviving a rain flood in the middle of the night. It kept me off the ground--allowing me to avoid contact with uncomfortable ground terrain and spiny plants that sometimes poked through the bottom of my tent. It also provided a little buffer between me and any bugs that got inside my tent, and any water that leaked into my tent during the rare rainstorm. It was easy to clean when I got home, and I expected this cot to last me for years and many future camping and fieldwork sessions. It takes up little space and it's very lightweight, so it was super easy to pack with all the things I needed to take in one bag--on an airplane--for field work. I did have to figure out from reading some online forums the best strategy for popping the bars into place and getting the cot set up. It takes a little bit of muscle, technique, and learning not to fear putting a little pressure on the bars to bow them and slide the heads into place. You have to pop the foot bars on by standing and holding the cot canvas sideways (I've found that straddling the cot while popping the feet on allows me the best control for setup), and it's easier to start with the middle two bars before popping on the bars on the ends. Once I figured out how to get the feet on I was able to set up and take down the cot quickly and easily during field work. I seriously love this cot--it is a sturdy design that is worth every penny. Highly recommended!

It's Good To Make The Wife Happy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have the larger Helinox cot that I use kayak camping and absolutely love it. My wife's will be more apt to go with me if she has a nice comfortable sleeping arrangement so I bought her the lightweight version of my cot which is perfect for her. Great quality and well worth the money.
