I bought this to take into the "high Sierras," namely a rock climb called the Obelisk. I still have not gone, but I can tell you, this pack would not have made it very easy. Out of the box, the first thing I thought was what an attractive design. I chose the icy blue/gray combo of colors and it was hard not to like. The pockets were also nice and it would allow for solid organization. I only loaded 25 lbs of gear and put it on, and immediately I could tell this pack was not designed for the serious backpacker. There's not much mention in the description of its use, but I would assume this is meant for the "Eurorail" or some sort of gentle endeavor as the waist belt is way to spongy to hold serious weight. Overall, this is a devent pack, and may especially excel if you are only using it as luggage (High Sierra is under the Samsonite umbrella). However, if you plan to haul some serious gear, or are planning to spend a week on the trail, look for other packs.
