Perfect For Icy Hike

Sturdy and well made product. Used it on a hike and performed well

Best Microspikes I've Ever Used

I have been using the same pair of Trail Crampon for 2 years now. They have not broken, and I have never had them slip off my boots either. No other microspikes I have used have stayed on so well nor have had such robust durability. I have rucked 50+ lbs with them on, ran downhill, and all the regular activites you use them for as well. They really bridge the gap between microspikes and crampons, although not ideal you can get decent traction on complete ice with them on.

Works Great!

I used the crampons yesterday and they worked great on packed snow and ice. The crampons made a little noise as the chains weren't exactly snug against my boot, but they aren't going to fall off due to the strap so this should be ok.

사용 소감

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the trampoline and used it yesterday. I've been hiking for about 25 years! The spikes are longer than any other trampoline I've used, and I like them because they're comfortable. One suggestion: Couldn't you make them so that snow doesn't stick to them like crampons? They're fine when the snow starts to fall, but when the snow melts, the snow sticks and makes it very difficult to wear! Crampons are clunky, and the metal part that adjusts the length breaks easily, making them uncomfortable to wear. I'm suggesting this because I want snow to not stick to the crampons.

Hiking Companion That Never Lets Me Down.

Section hiker on the AT and VT long trail thru hiker. These have never let me down. Allows hiking with confidence even on the slick terrain.

Dependable And Durable

I've had these for 5 years and still going strong. Love winter hiking and they've definitely gotten their use. One of the few items I have not needed to upgrade or replace. Love them!

»Killer » Crampons!

Great crampons! I call them « killer » crampons. I wear them to walk on the mountain on Mount-Royal in the winter and am very happy with them.

Great Additional Traction

Bought these for dog hikes, I’ve have had over 20 days this season hiking the mountains during cold spells through ice and rocks. Doesn't seem to be letting down anytime soon.

The Best I've Used.

This is my fifth set of hiking crampons from various brands. These are by far the best. Easy to out on. Don't move while hiking. Durable.

Walk, Hike, Or Run With Confidence

I bought Trail Crampon for hiking on potentially icy terrain (e.g., Cascades, Rockies, White Mountains, Adirondack, etc.) during spring/late fall, but I ended up breaking them out early so I could still hike during the storm that just covered Tennessee (and half of the U.S.) in snow/ice. I first tried with just my hiking boots and trekking poles because who needs microspikes in Tennessee? After a few miles of slipping, sliding, and halving my walking speed, I gave my Trail Crampons a try. INSTANT GAME CHANGER! No more slipping, no more sliding: just comfort and confidence. The hinged plate system is superb--unlike other microspikes I've tried, there is absolutely no "spike slop" due to connections between the spikes stretching/flexing/twisting with each step. Every step is stable and predictable, yet the hinged plate allows for a normal/natural gait. I highly recommend these for hard-packed snow or ice. A few notes: (1) I wear size 10.5 Merrell or Salomon hiking boots and size 11 Brooks running/trail running shoes and the Medium size fit better than the Large size; (2) I wore the Trail Crimpons on my Merrell hiking boots (rigid sole) and Brooks Cascadia trail runners (flexible sole) and was equally comfortable in both.

Exceptional Product

My wife and been using theses for the last 12 years, every winters, on hicking journey. I had to repair them only once, on all 12 years. Imagine that, it must best my most reliable piece of equipement. Now rubber is a bit dry and fit is a tad bigger. Will replace with same thing for sure.

Safety Issue -Shouldn’t Be Called A Crampon

Please stop using the term crampon when the gear is not a technical crampon. I live in an area with severe winter hiking conditions and keep coming across people new to winter hiking who believe they are using a crampon - in crampon appropriate conditions - and this is not a crampon. Please rename this product appropriately.

Security ! Security ! Security !

I have been using these crampons for over 7 years and I have never felt so safe in Winter Ice and snow conditions. Climbing up or down on ice, I always feel secure and that is why I use crampons. The velcro strap ensures that I have never had the crampons slip. The only issue is when they get wet, they will start to accumulate snow and form ice balls on the bottom of the crampons... Need to find a wood log on the trail to scrape it out.. But love my crampons and the quality... Hillsound is the market leader and I have no hesitation given them a strong thumbs up.

Best Crampons Ever!

It's not complicated, I have tried many pairs of crampons and these are without a doubt the one I would buy if I needed a single pair ever! I want crampons to go on a hike, on a frozen lake (if I can't skate obviously) and anywhere when on a winter trip (because safety) and these do it all. Not as bulky as the rigid spikes more suitable for mountaineering and MUCH better than any other smaller spike. They are super stable underfoot on flat or very sloped terrain. I would not recommend to simply walk around the city but that's not why I buy crampons. Hands down the best value for price and overall crampons.
