Poor Quality Control.

I bought the Clifton 9's while on vacation in September 2024 after my trusty old Reeboks wore out based on the recommendation of an employee. I am in my late 60s and am pretty gentle on my shoes since they are used for errands and around the house. I was tying my laces the other day and the eyelet busted through. It's hard to believe that a $160 pair of gently used shoes should be falling apart this quickly, so I reached out to Hoka. I was dismissed and advised of their 1 year limited warranty which I understand since many people are rough on shoes. This, however, is not the case. It appears that the hole for the shoelace was improperly placed to begin with which caused it to have less material support when tightening the laces. My review on the Hoka website was never posted by them even though they claim tht all reviews are posted in 3-7 days. Anyway, just be careful when purchasing these shoes and inspect them carefully so you don't end up having to buy a new pair every 16 months.

I use these daily for the gym and for long runs, and they’ve held up perfectly. If you’re looking for a reliable, comfortable shoe that supports your feet mile after mile, the Clifton 10s are absolutely worth it.
