Hokas: The One Stop Shop To Develop New And Unexpected Lower Body Pain!
I was recommended Hoka Cliftons by a podiatrist as a solution to plantar fasciitis, yet despite the initial comfort when I slip these on, by the end of the day, I am having worse plantar fasciitis flare-ups than my completely unsupportive, ~2 year old Adidas sneakers. I bought these (my first and last pair of Hokas) a month ago, and rather than address the foot issue I set out to, I have a new orthotic issue: these shoes have absolutely wrecked my knees. I have aching pain in the front of my knees that radiates into my shins. I thought that maybe a recent change in lifestyle may have brought the knee issue on, but tonight, I finally connected the dots and realized that my knee pain coincides with weekdays, but when I wear sandals on the weekends, I only have plantar fasciitis pain, no knee pain. Tonight, I did some digging, and some online runners' blogs confirm that this is a known problem for highly-cushioned shoes like Hokas (especially Cliftons), which redistribute the force behind every step and strain the front of your knee - exactly where I'm experiencing pain. I am disappointed Hokas are marketed to people in professions/lifestyles that demand being on your feet (in my case, nursing), and I have walked away with only pain. I can't believe I convinced MYSELF to spend $165 on a pair of shoes that has made my life significantly worse. Returning ASAP.

I Found My New Love!
I have plantar fasciitis and have tried everything from creams to physical therapy. Nothing has helped but these Hoka’s did the trick in one week (and I didn’t even wear them everyday. I am definitely gonna get more of these.

Great Shoe For Walking
I bought the Hoka Clifton 10 shoe as my previous Cliftons are worn out. I walk every day and the Hoka Clifton provides great support and comfort.
