Shipping Partner Impacts Customer Relations

This rating is a direct result of Dick's shipping partner, AIT. We purchased this treadmill on 12/10. Someone from AIT contacted us on 12/11 to schedule the delivery. At that time, the delivery was scheduled for Sunday 12/21. In the days leading up the delivery, we heard nothing from AIT about a delivery window. I happened to check the link sent to me with the delivery information and noticed that the delivery was now scheduled for Saturday 12/20, delivery window 2pm-5pm. No one contacted me about this update, but this change worked better for us so we didn't make a huge deal about it. Saturday 12/20 rolls around and we hear nothing from AIT all day, including during the delivery window. 2pm-5pm comes and goes; no one contacted us. We get a call after the window has passed at 5:10 pm stating that the delivery truck would be here between 6:00pm-6:30pm. We were a little annoyed but understood that things happen, especially this time of year with lots of deliveries. Once again, 6:30pm rolls around and still no delivery. At this point, I called AIT and they called the driver and claimed that they would be at our house before 7pm. I told them that we had been waiting around since 2pm at this point, and if they were not here by 7, we would not accept the delivery. They arrived at 6:59 (I kid you not). Even after the delivery finally occurred, I get an email from Dick's saying that my packaged has shipped and to expect my treadmill by January 8th. I reached out to Dick's customer service just to confirm that another treadmill was not en route. I mentioned to the rep that we were dissatisfied with the shipping company and their response was basically "we have no control over the shipping partner". All this to say: Dicks, if you value your customers and their experience, maybe use a shipping partner that actually vaules their customer's time. My husband and I greatly regret purchasing this treadmill from Dicks due to their shipping partner, and we will think twice before making a big purchase from Dicks again due to the experience we had with AIT. Based on my experience, I would recommend shopping around before buying this treadmill or any other through Dick's Sporting Goods, and making sure you look into other company's shipping partner(s) before spending your hard earned money on people who couldn't care less about your time.

Save The Headache And Get A Different Brand

This treadmill offers great value for its price, but unfortunately, it broke within a month of use. My wife used it around ten times before it displayed the E7 error and completely stopped working. We contacted customer service to troubleshoot the issue, but none of the solutions worked. Ultimately, the Motor Control Board (MCB) failed, overheating and preventing the belt from moving. It seems that this is a common problem with this model. Dick's customer service has been entirely unhelpful in addressing this issue. Despite purchasing an "insurance policy" from Dick's at the time of purchase, they refuse to offer support and simply direct us to contact the manufacturer. Absolutely no assistance from them.

The Same 2 Parts Failed Twice In Less Than 2 Years / 100 Miles

TLDR: The incline motor and motor control board died twice in less than 2 years / less than 100 miles of usage. There is a pattern of this specific failure across online reviews. Horizon Fitness didn’t do anything to address this quality issue. I purchased the Horizon Fitness T101 in January 2024 for about $650. It stopped working the 2nd day. However, customer support was responsive, and the parts and labor were all completely covered, which was very nice. The incline motor and motor control board had to be replaced. After that, everything worked fine. I used the unit intermittently, maybe a couple times per month at most. It’s a sturdy machine and I liked how it didn’t have all the fancy bells and whistles; I just wanted a good, simple treadmill that would last many years. But then in November 2025, the unit stopped working again. I contacted customer support again and they said the problem was most likely the incline motor and motor control board, the same two pieces that had already broken and been replaced. They sent me a link to their online store, where I found those 2 parts, plus tax and shipping, are over $500. I continued to speak with customer support, as it seemed completely unreasonable to have to pay over $500 for parts that had already broken once before, all for a $650 treadmill. Plus, adding in the cost of labor for installation, the repair cost would then likely be greater than the cost of a new unit. They basically just said the unit was outside of warranty and there was nothing they could do. I then requested my issue be escalated, and I was put in contact with a supervisor. I repeated that I did not feel I should be held liable to pay over $500 for parts that had failed twice in less than 2 years / less than 100 miles of usage. I also expressed concern that there is a general quality or manufacturing issue, as I found many reviews across Amazon and Google stating that the same two parts had also failed for other customers. No comment was given about the pattern of failure, but I was essentially told that 1) Using the treadmill too infrequently can also cause it to break, 2) The unit is outside of warranty (again), and 3) Cheaper treadmills have shorter warranties while more expensive models have longer warranties. I felt the response was inconsiderate and lacked any substance. Here’s a slightly shortened version of their response: “Unfortunately, not using electrical components can also cause those components to degrade. This particular machine has a one year warranty and has been out of warranty for 11 months... I would recommend reviewing the warranty before making a purchase so as not to be surprised by the warranty terms. A lot of times when you're paying more for a product, they tend to have a longer warranty. Lower cost products tend to have a shorter one. I am sorry but we aren't able to cover the cost of the parts in this case.” Never did Horizon Fitness address the pattern of the incline motor and motor control board failing. I’m concerned that a legitimate quality issue is being ignored and that other customers, like myself, are going to continue getting burned by subpar product quality.
