Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't Great concept, but the implementation has some problems. During play, the suction cup does not always grab the ball. This could be due to several things, but I suspect it is because the ball and/or suction cup does not stay completely clean. I tested in the house with a clean suction cup and clean ball and it worked almost every time. But on the course, my results varied. If the problem is caused by dirt, this problem is compounded by the fact that I carry my putter in my golf bag with the grip end down (in the bag), as I'm sure a lot of people do. This causes the device to get dirty just by sitting on the bottom of my golf bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A better ball pick-up With a knee replacement and an overhanging gut it's getting harder to bend over and pick that ball out of the cup. Previously, I had a larger cup pick-up which was harder to mount on the end of the putter and it didn't fit into the bag well. Initially I thought this cup would be too small, but that turned out to be the best feature. It screws into the putter easily and when putting you don't even know it's there. It does pick up the ball easily and the small profile allows it to slip into the bag much easier than my previous model. Although about eight dollars more expensive than the other model I grade this product A+.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Saves my back I've had the cup style attachments but they were always a bad fit if you didn't have a round putter grip, which I don't. That type would often fall off to the bottom of my golf bag because of poor fit. This unit takes a little work and strength to get into the tiny drain hole of the putter grip but once in, it stays. It works fairly well but often I have to make two or three attempts to get it to securely pick up the ball. I found that in cold weather it did not work at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from does NOT appear as it does ONLINE The one I just got delivered is not brown nor golden metal colored, it is black rubber and the metal is silver/steel color. It might be name has nothing related to the name Hornung on the packaging. Not sure it is is the same item or not, certainly a FAR cry from what is pictured online VS what I got delivered. Not a high ticket item nor critical, but attention to detail and delivery of what is being offered has NOT BEEN MET! The hassle of potential returning is not worthy my time nor effort but disappointing nonetheless.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worth the Price?? I purchased this product because I have some back problems and needed occasional help to get my golf ball out of the cup. I had seen several other devices, but the Ball Eagle was smaller and seemed much less obtrusive on my grip. It is a decent product, but I believe that the suction cup is just a bit too small. I had some problems attaching the ball if there was any dirt on the ball at all, and the suction cup dropped the ball several times. I will keep using it for the time being, but am looking for a better solution. Not sure it is worth the [$] pricetag.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very ineffective Vast majority of the time it does not connect with the ball and with partners waiting to hit, etc., I pick it up by hand. Poorly designed product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product doesn't work for me I was very unsatisfied, this product did not pick the ball up from turf or the cup everytime. U was forced to go somewhere else to buy a different product that actually works everytime and it cost me $2 instead if the $7.99 I was charged at your store. I will probably continue shopping your store, but I won't take a chance on any product I'm not already familiar with its quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad design This ball retriever would not pick up the golf ball on our first outing with it. I've had one before, but it would always come off the club and be in the bottom of my golf bag. The only reason I bought this product again was because they changed the design so that it screws on with a scew design.
