I later purchased an igloo drain plug due to the fact that one end of the cooler looks to have a depression and a flat square area for a drain plug. So, I drill the hole to install the drain plug and come to find that it isn’t long enough. I contacted igloo, and their corporate office says it was never designed for a drain plug. I asked why one end of the cooler looks to be designed for one. They wouldn’t comment. This cooler is a piece of junk anyway. It is poorly insulated, and even with added insulation it could barely keep ice over night. It will go in the trash. DO NOT BUY

Rated 3 out of 5 by JHall from Good but ... It worked well, doesn't hold ice very long, but the biggest complain is the lid. Second time opening it, first being in store, second being at home to load it and it comes off completely. The hinges are poorly designed and made of short plastic posts. It didn't break, it's just bad design that easily comes out so don't try and pack anything in like you would a more expensive cooler because the lid will not hold.

Rated 3 out of 5 by hey now from you get what you pay for I have owned this 1 1/2 months now. It holds ice in full sun about 30 hours. I may try the trick of drilling holes in the sides and filling with spray foam. I'm not super unhappy with it,, just know that you are getting what you pay for here.

I have been using Igloo coolers my whole life and have always been very pleased with their performance, but Igloo dropped the ball on this one. At first glance the cooler looks well-made and the price point is attractive, but it just wouldn't hold any ice. I bought this cooler for a weekend camping trip, mainly to be used as a beer cooler, and I expected to have to add ice from time to time with all of the constant opening and closing, but even at night with the cooler closed and full of ice it would all be melted by morning. For a weekend camping trip (Friday night and Saturday night) we went through 50 pounds of ice just trying to keep everything cold. Now, at $1.99 a bag for 5 bags that's not a huge expense to incur, and it was definitely worth every penny to keep our favorite beverages cold, but it wasn't the quality of product that I have come to expect from Igloo. If I had it to do over again, I would spend a little more money for a better quality cooler.
