Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great boot, fatal problem I love this boot, however, as stated before, the lining at the heel tears out and I have literally had to cut the boot off of my foot twice to remove it. I’ve owned 3 pair. When it occurred the first time, I only had one pair that I wore every day. I liked the boots well enough that I blamed the issue on my abuse of the boot, and ordered two more pair that I alternated daily on a boot dryer. I’m disappointed to say, the issue reoccurred. At this point, I’m $600 in & have one wearable pair that I have to use a shoe horn to get off of my foot at the end of the day. The boots are great on your feet, but good luck getting them off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Expect about 2 years in heavy construction Boots did well. I do a lot of work crawling, kicking, climbing and so on and these boots provided good protection. With safety toes, they will inherently wear at the toe much faster than soft toes, but that didn't affect the water proof layers underneath. The leather has held up well. The sole on the other hand... After just a few days and weeks, the sole began to "shred". Slivers of rubber would peel off and dangle. After the sole wore down, the foam layered between the sole and boot would absorb water and I would "squish" around everywhere. A previous pair of redwings didn't do this. However, I still got my expected lifetime out of the boot without compromising comfort. Also, this style was "Made in China." I don't know the relevance, but my previous pair seemed to hold up better, and it was a USA product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Buy Liner pulls away from the boot and once it happens the boot is junk. Bought one pair, loved the fit, liner pulled loose within the first year. Had to cut it to get my foot out. Thought maybe it was a one time thing. Bought another pair, same thing happened within a year. These are way to expensive for this kind of issue. It appears this may only be a issue with the waterproof boots, not sure?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheaply Made I swear by setters ive worn them for the last ten years. I was sick of lacing though so I decided to move to these. I tried them on and they were a little tight but nothing too crazy! So I got them! I’ve had them for a little over six months and when I got home today I couldn’t get the boot off. I tried everything under the sun but the inside kept bunching up around my ankle. I finally decided to cut down the back of my leg with a pair of tin snips and got the boot off. Upon investigation it seems that the heel rubbed a rip and that was it, all of that lining would move with my foot and wrap around it. Very very disappointed in the quaility, I’ve never had a pair of setters rip at the heel..will not go slip ons ever again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Issues on this boot I have owned these boots twice both times with in 2 months the interior at the heel of your foot ripped to the point I can't get my foot out no more both pairs did the same thing as much money as I spend on these boots that problem should b fixed!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A little tight So I first bought these boots a few years ago and they originally fit great. I could go all day in them. Well I started having issues with the heel breaking down and eventually tearing the liner out last summer after trying to get my foot out. Keep in mind once they started getting tight I switched to something else. I wore them in a pinch one day last year and that was the last time I wore them. Haven't been able to get them on since. When I could wear them I loved them.

These boots are comfortable, keep me dry on rainy nights and do great keeping me upright on a sloped steel bed covered in everything a vehicle leaks. When exploring or hunting, these boots are comfy on the feet for all day stomps thru the woods. Briar?...what briar, walk thru/over everything no prob.
