Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot I bought these for a trip to Colorado this fall and have not used them a lot yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy Duty WARMTH - look and fit like a steel toe work boot without the steel toe. I bought these in response to my cold feet experienced in the ground blind and tree stands during this years Deer Hunt. . In particular it was a three day hunt during the last weeks of January that had me searching soon afterwards for a good tree stand / ground blind hunting boot. . My non-insulated Irish Setter ankle-fit rubber boots were simply the wrong tool for the application I found myself in and I suffered for it. Good socks alone were not enough insulation for sub freezing weather. . I first saw this style at my local Red Wing store but they did not have my size 13 Wide. . What attracted me to this design was the oversize toe box allowing for the thicker and warmer hunting socks to be more comfortable and enhance their insulation properties. . They really do appear to look like an old school pair of heavy duty steel toe work boots without the toe insert - that is the extra toe room the advertising mentions. . I will not truly know whats truth versus fantasy until after they get broken in this spring and next seasons cold weather returns. . I expect them to be too warm for the spring turkey season but I will need and I plan on putting some miles on them before wearing them for a week of 12 hour days next fall and then again late winter. . Knowing that they are Red Wings leaves me 100% confident that my feet will remain dry and warm and my ankles supported. These are seriously heavy duty boots, my feet and ankles are going to be very well supported. . Be aware - these are not modern lightweight EZ-Flex running shoe / hiking boots - these are probably going to be a bit tough to break in - but knowing my Red Wing Heritage Boots has me certain that the minor pain is well worth the investment. . Yes they are a bit clunky looking - so what. . Are these high altitude Elk trackers - nope probably not and neither am I at present. They do seem well suited for hunting during Maryland / Pennsylvania winters. . Are they suited for a few miles in and out with a long sit in-between - I HOPE SO for that is the application I have acquired these for. I believe these will be just fine but a true review will have to wait 12 months.... till then I am a satisfied customer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from do not buy! Had these about 6 months. Very stiff, heavy, and not made for walking. They have been warm. They rub my ankles because they are so stiff. Very dissapointed...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable and great price Bought these for hunting and I'm very pleased with the comfort and warmth. My feet get cold very easy and these are the warmest boots I've owned so far. Although my feet still got cold these boots kept me in the woods much longer than any others I've owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm boot I bought these for PA hunting in cold weather for still hunting. They keep my feet warm. I bought the wide width to accommodate times I would wear extra socks to add insulation. Even when wearing a single pair they fit ok (I am a solid medium width). I find them a little clunky to walk around in but attribute that to the wide width. I have had them several years and got them on sale for about $100. Anything near that price point they are a great deal

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boots Feet stay dry and warm . Good except for the very coldest days when I wear 2000 gr Irish setter snow claw boots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Irish Setter Gunflint II I haven't wore the boots yet but did try them on seemed to fit understand that is not the same as wearing hunting and hiking in rough terrain they didn't remove the security tag from the boot.
