Rated 1 out of 5 by from Feels great but not for long I bought this boot thinking, "It's slightly cheaper than my original Red Wings but still has the name so I'll give it a try." Originally the boots were great. I loved the fit and they were comfortable all day. I work in construction so my boots take a beating. However my original pair of Red Wings lasted about 4 years. Within 4 months I wore the toe off of these. No big deal I added a boot saver to the front. I've had them for ten months now and the soles are almost worn away and falling apart. If the boots could fit well and be durable they would have 5 stars. Now I have to go spend another couple hundred dollars to get some new boots when I bought these less than a year ago.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I thought this would be my only workboot choice the first few months I wore them. These were the most comfortable work boots I've ever worn, and I've been working over forty years. Wore them around the house for two weekends before committing them to full time use at work. I was absolutely amazed at how great they fit and felt right out of the box. The rather course nonskid coated concrete floors throughout our machine shops were to much for the soles. After ten months they were unusable. I hated to replace them with a different brand, but at the price paid for these I expect more than eight to ten months of use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Horrible digged in to my ankle Well after the 3 day of wearing the shoe I decided not to anymore the part were it folds keep digging in to my ankle to were I can take it anymore I tough I was part of the break in process but I won't find out I'm going to just wear my old red wing 2401 I bought this pair because the sales person said they were very similar and more comfortable out of the box to the 2401 wich wasn't true for me other then that the shoe seems well made and durable

Rated 1 out of 5 by from They claim to be water proof, don't believe it. I have owned these boots for 7 months now. Dealt with a small rain storm at work today and my feet are so wet it's like I walked through a pond with no boots on. There was actually standing water in my boots after I took them off. Not only were they not very comfortable, they are heavy and do not preform. Would have been better off wearing running shoes. DO NOT purchase these boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features. These boots are light.fealty like you don't even have them on. Only took two days to break them in and most boots I've owned took at least a week. Def water proof and have a great feeling with the aluminum tips.so comfortable. By far the best boots I have ever owned. Thanks red wing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Work Boot In the last 20 years, I've only had two sets of boots make it to the one year mark, and these are one of them. I just hit one year exactly. That they have lasted this long is remarkable (I'm a metal fabricator & welder, boots are exposed to tough conditions day in and day out), but given the price I had high expectations. Took a good two weeks to break in and were quite uncomfortable/painful to wear until that time. But once they did break in, they fit like a glove and I'm thrilled with the comfort and feel of them-- sturdy, lots of protection, but not cumbersome or heavy. It looks like I will get at least another couple months out of them, the first failure I suspect will be the lining which already has a couple small holes at the back of the boot where you slide your heel down to get in. The leather, even the toe (I applied toe-guard stuff when boots were new, but is all worn off now) is in great shape other than scuffs and scrapes, even where it flexes a lot. The sole looks good as the day I bought them and the stitching all around the boot is still 100% intact. I don't think the boot is still 100% waterproof at this point, it does get damp if I'm in standing water for any period of time, but good enough for the conditions I use them in. Very happy with these boots, good value, hope they keep going awhile longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best boot ever! After 4 years of wearing these are Irish Setters I have just ordered my third pair. These are by far the best quality boot I have ever worn, I do rough work at my jobs and my feet feel like they're in a comfortable battle tank all the time. I could probably stretch three years out of a pair but I like to get a new pair and save the older ones for really dirty jobs.
