Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wet feet suck! I bought these boots for hunting, I regret that. If you are hiking or hunting in dry weather these would work fine. In fact before I walked through damp underbrush I loved them. Unfortunately they are the only boots I have that fit right now. Deer season closes soon and I will be mailing these back to Red Wing for a replacement. It really sucks that I have to spend more money on a boot that I really dont even want anymore just to get the quality and fuunctionality that I was supposed to recieve in the first place. These were supposed to be waterproof, it's hard to stalk a deer when your feet are so wet every step makes a suck and squish noise.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Soles do not hold up I bought these boots loving the idea of a boot as comfy as a sneaker. The fit was true to size and as advertised, very comfy. My only complaint is the soles. They were completely worn out with no traction after about 10 miles. After close inspection, it seemed as the soles were melted away. My hike was nothing out of the norm for a hunt, rocks, ridges etc. The boots are extremely slippery on rocky conditions and offered no support in colder weather. Great idea for the soles, but does not stand up to the conditions needed in back country hunts. I own different pairs of Irish setters and love them all, I will not be buying this line anymore.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very Narrow Fit Very narrow fit! I read a number of reviews online and saw multiple mentioning the narrow fit. I tried on the "normal" width boot at a local sporting goods store and it was definitely awkwardly narrow and not a good fit. I ordered the wide fit from Dick's and unfortunately it is extremely wide, so this boot will not work for me. I wear a size 10 normal width in everything from hunting boots, tennis shoes and dress shoes so the Irish Setters just have an issue. I am going to try ordering a 9.5 wide and see if that does the trick. Boot is great besides that; lightweight, rugged and seems highly waterproof #which is why I bought it in the first place#. Dick's shipped quickly and no issues with the return, not their fault sizing is awkward!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for short time. Luckily I live in a pretty dry state. Since so many have complained of the lack of waterproofing. I haven't had that problem myself. I love the light weight of the boots. I can wear them all day and I have no leg fatigue. My feet also won't hurt. Now here is the problem. The soles are slicks within 6 months if you wear them on almost a daily basis. Maybe if I were to mostly walk in grass they would last longer. Unfortunately I mostly walk on hard surfaces. In the past I have had Irish Setters that easily lasted 2 years of wear on 6 days a week use. Now I hesitate to purchase another pair. They are high priced for a boot I only get 6 months out of.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This shoe is great for Archery season in the PNW (Rain). I bought this boot four years ago and use them specifically for archery in the Pacific North West where it rains abundantly. Unlike a lot of these reviews I have never experienced wet feet in these boots nor have I experienced the tread wearing down too soon, and I cover many miles according to my GPS. Like all other materials you should probably have them cleaned and scotch guarded yearly. Another intuitive thought would be that anyone who spends any amount of time in the snow would automatically know that these are not snow boots, nor are they prescribed as a submergible boot. I am actually on this site at this moment ordering another pair of these boots without the camo pattern for hiking trails in the PNW.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Iris Setter Vaprtrek These boots are true to size with minimal heel lift. They are extremely comfortable and require little break in if any. The only downfall is in wet conditions the soles are extremely slippery especially on rocks. This becomes real noticeable when temps fall below 32deg as the soles begin to stiffen up. After a 5 day hunt in snow my feet stayed dry, which is the upside. These are quiet so they would make a good bow hunting boot in dry conditions. Overall, a well made boot.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from comfortable but wears fast I purchased these boots for an early season elk hunt in Utah. The boots were comfortable right out of the box and break in was minimal. The boots breathe well and the soles were aggressive enough to get me into and out of the back country. I wore these boots everyday for two weeks and at the end, they were worn out. The soles were very worn and the waterproof membrane began to leak. If your looking for a boot to last this is not the boot for you. If your looking for a light weight boot for occasional use, and don't mind the price, I recommend this boot without reservation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great and comfortable So pleased with these boots. These are the most comfortable boots I've bought in a long time. Served as an infantryman in the army so I'm definitely a boot guy. These give me support and comfort my aching feet. I wear them every day and will buy a new pair as soon as they're through. They have held up to not leaking water as far as I've tested, even with some exterior damage that came on a little early into the purchase. Overall a solid boot, love them.
