My kids are new to ice skating. We have literally ordered 7 different pairs of ice skates for the kids to use and have wasted a lot of money on many other brands/types of skates. Most brands that are lower cost are NOT made for actual lessons. These give GREAT support at the ankle and the leather is very stiff (like they're supposed to be). The black & blue version of this is what my son uses and it's just perfect. It's the lowest priced figure skates for boys that I could find and were approved by his instructors, but I'd say the quality is quite superior. You will likely need to sharpen though.

Love these, but there was a red mark on the white boot. Great comfort, but I need to exchange them.
