Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Strong rod I bought the Jawbone 3 years ago. I have it paired with an old but very large and reliable Penn 7500 spooled with 20 pound mono. I have used this from a panga in the sea of cortez and caught dorado and two small tunas (15 lb and 20 lb). I did not intend to use it to catch the small tuna but the guide told me to use it for fly lining live sardines. It worked but I was really worried during the fight: I am not sure I will again use it on a tuna (but will for dorado) but this story is to let you know that it is very strong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Revised Review for Jawbone I recently posted a review on the Jawbone telescopic rod. That was a mistake, as I meant to post my review on the Hurricane Mako telescopic rod and not the Jawbone telescopic rod. Again, the rod I used, which Dick's carries, is the Hurricane Mako telescopic rod which has a line rating of 12-30 pounds. Sorry for the confusion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent compact pole I bought two of these ploes for my grandsons. We took them on vacation and the boys used them to fish. The pole is a decent pole if you make sure to "lock" the sections in place. Satisfied with the quality and functionalty. Good value.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compact I've yet to use it, but the reason for purchase was it's compact design, nailed it there

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Total Joke! Flimsy! Once I opened the rod, the rod will not close up completely. The top two guides either get stuck or slide around the rod. When I freed a guide from being stuck in one place, it would slide all over the rod. The guide on the tip is not strong. I bought the rod last week and after the first time I opened the rod, I saw that something was not right with this rod. Last night, I was surf fishing in Ormond Beach and when I tried to cast my line with a Carolina Rig, the line and the rig gave off its last just less than a week after I bought it. Not only the rig was gone, but also the tip guide, the guide below that, and my line was gone as well!! The reel I attached to this rod was a Zebclo with a 10 lb Cajun line. The reel itself is good. The reel also came with its own telescopic rod, which I used for a few months, caught my first fish, a walking catfish, and a few Mayans, and last week that rod broke apart. So this is why I bought the Jawbone Telescopic Rod. I expected the Jawbone Telescopic rod to be good and sturdy, but it unfortunately turned out to be a big disappointment. So don't waste your money on this rod, get a better telescopic rod.
