" When It Matters Most It Will Be There"

I bought this stove 2 years ago now, and im finally doing this review. This stove has worked out great for me all around.the highest compliment I could give it though is " when it matters most it will be there". I was recently in an emergency situation where me and a climbing partner had gotten injured and needed rescue, it was -24 snow covering everything and the only thing to burn to keep warm was a newly cut live green tree. So I cut what I could with a broken arm and got to work getting a fire going and of course nothing would light, so I made the call get the jetboil and sacrifice it to get a fire going. I lit my stove and shoved it in the bottom of the sticks and twigs, within minutes my wood started to catch, so I put more twigs on and it took off. Thanks to my jet boil me and my friend are alive amd here to climb another day

Does The Job, But Has It's Limits

This was my first backpacking stove since my old Coleman Peak with the integrated white gas can and pump (back in the 90's). Much lighter and smaller. I like how the pot is secured to the stove, and boil time is decent. Cons - **Does not simmer well (great for boiling, but not so much for cooking). No piezo (so you have to light the stove, then place/secure the pot. The lid is not the most secure. The size of the pot is only 0.8L... which probably helps with the boil time, but sometimes I wished I could boil more in without having to refill. Typical issue with all Iso stoves... where cold weather decreases BTU's. Ultimately, its a good little stove, and got me through a lot of backpacking trips. It's just not my go-to any more.

Supper For One

I bought it for solo ops. BOB, or hiking is what I got it for.

Fast And Easy

This stove is a great option for those looking to heat water in the back country. It boils water super fast and with minimal fuel. I just used it on a 5 day backpacking trip in Glacier National Park and didn't even finish a single 100g fuel canister. It was perfect for all my freeze dried meals and hot beverages. If more than one person is using the stove, it might be worth getting the 1L size for a little bit of time savings, but I'd rather cut the weight in my pack.
