Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for softball I bought this for a girls softball team. We use 12" balls for girls in 7th and 8th grade. We got about 5 reasonable pitches and that was all. Everything else was so erratic it was not worth it. I think it has to do with the small wheel not grabbing the ball well enough. After multiple tries, a call to Jugs for help, and the purchase of the dimpled PS50 specific balls we retired the unit and had to purchase one of the big softball specific pitching machines. There is a reason this is only $600, it doesn't work as well as the larger $1600 pitching machines. The new Jugs Softball pitching machine with cart throws great pitch after pitch for 2 hours. Don't bother wasting your money on the PS50 for softball. I can not comment on how it might work for baseball.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product for the Money I coach both my boys baseballs teams (10 and 8 y/o). It is very easy to use and extremely accurate. The only bad review on here sounds like they didn't air it up to the correct amount. We put a little too much air in and it pitched wild. We corrected the air and it was back to normal. I've used it for a year and a half of heavy use and its still going strong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use & Very Portable I bought this machine Spring of 2015 and held off on giving a review until i really got some good use out of it. First and foremost you MUST use real leather balls!!! Cheap balls will tear and/or have the cover totally ripped off. Also, you will never get an accurate pitch with cheap "practice" grade balls. You must also make sure the tire has been sanded a bit and has the proper amount of air in the tire. I've used this machine for 3 seasons now and have put a couple thousand balls thru it with no let down! My 10 yr. old son hits 60 - 90 balls prior to every game on top of 150 balls per team practice (used for batting practice as well as pop fly drills). Won't find a better machine at this price, the only thing you might want to consider is you'll probably be spending at least $100 a year on new leather balls, otherwise a great purchase!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible idea I'm the coach for my sons 8 yr old team. I tried it a few times in the backyard, and it seemed okay. Then I took it to the cage to use with the team. After about 15 pitches, it was throwing the ball all over the place, and it beaned my 8 yr old batter in the leg! So the other coach and I unplugged it, and decided to take it to the field on a Saturday and just run a lot of balls through it to get it 'broke in'. Except it got worse! If kids would have been there, 4 would have been beaned in the head! I do not recommend this machine. Other jugs machines are great as our little league uses them. But this one is anything but a PS perfect strike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I love it it works the way it's supposed to just like a big league pitching machine but smaller got nothing but good things to say about it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this machine Great machine only issu is that I can't fit a softball ( dimpled ones )to go through the softball chute ? Any suggestions? I did move the pad placket up to correct placing . Beside this issue this machine is awesome and very durable

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for This machine is working out great. It is relatively easy to set up. The machine is heavy and seems durable. I run the machine off of my pickup truck battery and a DC power inverter. It may not be a perfect strike every time when using real baseballs, but it is good enough for little league BP. It will melt the cover off of the synthetic balls. It is expensive, but I feel that it was a good value.
