For context, I have been baitcasting for about two years now, but because I didn't know I would like it, I originally bought a cheap walmart reel. I traditionally liked spin casting. But with the weather getting warmer where I live, I decided it was time to upgrade.. enter Kastking! I love their products because they provide such great value (they are not always the cheapest, but for their price, I have never been disappointed with the quality). So, why this reel? with 11+1 BBS, this thing retrieves like a top. It is incredibly smooth. I am still somewhat new to understanding how gear ratio affects casting with different baits, but everything I have used casts extremely easily, and it has opened opportunities for me to try different baits. I am a big fan of the Texas rig, but I am moving into lighter baits, which this reel makes much easier. Now, every newer bait caster worries about nesting, but the dual braking system alleviated a lot of my concerns. It has made me much more confident about trying different cast methods. I also love that it is light and solid. My old reel weighed considerably more and felt more like a piece of garbage, this reel feels strong and like it should last a long time if I take care of it. It just feels premium in your hand. It was a great buy!
