Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Replacement for worn out Merrell MOHAB Boot Based upon a park ranger's recommendation, he lives in boots and is in the field most of the time, I tried on the Keen Targhee II Mid Boots at a local Dicks store. They were very comfortable in the store and I ordered online saving $20.00 Boots arrived about a week later. I have used them for a week steady now in the park. Still very comfortable and the lacing system really works well. Like how the rubber toe cap helps keep water off your toes. The ankle support is good for light hiking and just walking around.I thought the Merrell was a decent boot, and it was. The Keen is just better. Cost a few dollars more than the Merrell, but is definitely a step up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Shoes Ever! Get two pair pf these like I did, because other brands are just not worth it like these are. They’ll cure your feet aches if you have wide feet, and they can be laced quickly and correctly to the right fit no hassle. Get these and start working harder and longer than ever on your feet with very little foot fatigue. They’re water proof too to a little over half way up but they do let your feet get a little sweaty but not too much. They grip well and you will probably feel a lot more sure footed. Great shoes/boots!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Oddly sized My local store didn't have my size so I ordered these online...other reviews said they run about a half size small. I ordered a half size more than I normally wear to compensate. After wearing them for three days, I felt like they were still too small. When I went to the local store, they had a full size bigger than my normal. I tried them on and it felt a little better, but not much. I don't typically wear a wide, but I believe the issue may be the boot are a tad narrow. I tried on a pair I Keen hiking shoes at a full size bigger and THEY still felt too tight. I returned my boots and realized Keen was just not meant for me

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Boot! I bought these for a 6 week geology field camp and long hikes. These look great and fit awesome! They are super durable so far on the hikes and get great traction on the ice - which we've had about 3 inches of here in Indiana. Even though these have the keendry insert - similar to gortex - I beeswaxed the leather. I'll have to say that when your boots covered in snow you can start to feel the cold, but once you kick the snow and ice off your foot warms up again. Wearing them indoors this winter I definitely began to sweat, but that may have been because of the cotton socks. with newwool I didn't see the problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Targhee II This lightweight hiking boot had some early failures on the sole delaminating, and the midsole going flat (losing its cushion) after relatively few hiking miles, however Keen warranty division stood behind their product and provided a credit to try another model.. While I was not overly pleased with a hiking boot priced in the mid-$100s lasting so short a time, I am highly impressed with Keen's willingness to stand behind their products. This is something so few manufacturers are willing to do these days. I'll keep purchasing from Keen. Hope my next model lasts longer. Reviews say it should. Cheers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable w solid construction Bought Keen boots for work last year after reading a review someone said they were the best. I now agree and won’t buy anything else. I worked 7/12’s as a commercial farmer outside in the snow and mud. These are the only boots I’ve ever work that stay comfortable and supportive over months. My last pair made it almost a year before I reused and bought these. Last pair was the Pittsburg Steel Keen boots. These Targhee’s I just bought are just as good but a little less rugged in style. - They run a size small so go up one shoe size when purchasing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boot.... just not for me. After reviewing several brands, hearing other's accounts of durability and performance I selected the Targhee II Mid as my 1st choice. After a day of wearing I determined that as much as I liked the overall feel, my fairly narrow foot was not meant to be paired with this boot. Another reviewer here wrote: "Narrow heel, higher arch, and wider toe box," describing how it worked very well for him. The wider toe box was the determining factor for my return to the great outfitter from whom I had purchased my pair. Heel and arch were great while there was simply too much "slop" in the toe.Still looking.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for casuals! I went through two pairs of these boots in as many weeks. The issue I had is that the rubber sole doesn't cover the entire shoe. There is this spongy foam that the rubber is attached to. I hike over a lot of scree and uneven terrain. Both pairs began to delaminate on the edges where the rubber is attached to the spongy foam bottom. So I don't recommend this boot to anyone does anything more than trail hikes. On the plus side, the boots were extremely comfortable and didn't require any break in, which is a huge plus!
