Rugged Built Hiking Shoes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my third pair of the Targhee ll. My first pair have over a 1000 miles on them & still are in wearable shape. The only issue I've had with this model is some minor tread issues. This model is a better fit for my foot than the newer models of Keen shoes.

Love These Shoes

These guys are a bit heavy, but I guess that’s what you get when you buy a quality shoe that can take on any of your hiking, walking, and heavy duty projects you throw at them. And I use them “a ton”! This is now the only non-dress shoe I buy.

Terrible Sole On An Otherwise Great Hiker

First, the shoe fit me very well and was comfortable right out of the box. It is perfect for day hikes, and provides excellent traction on scrambles and slippery ground. The waterproofing is excellent, my feet never got wet walking through puddles or shallow streams. This shoe is great except for one thing, and to me, it's a deal breaker: after less than a year of moderate wear, the sole began separating from the midsole. This happened with both shoes in the mid foot, the heel and even a little on the forefoot. I've had to shoo goo these soles several times and I'm about ready to cut my loses and get another pair. It's almost as if Keen has a planned obsolescence strategy. Very disappointing.

Poor Workmanship!

I've purchased two pairs of your targhee ll in the past year. Both of them the tread has came unglueed. The newest pair came apart in the first month. Very poor workmanship for the cost of your product! I have a pair from four years ago that are in better shape!

Best Work Shoe Ever

The Targhee II is my go-to shoe for working outside in various weather conditions. I love them so much, I should probably buy another pair to alternate with, but these Keens outperform all other shoes I've used. Devoted customer for life!
