Gah! Keen, you sneaky devil. As many other long-time Keen customers, I have a wider forefoot. The idea of the shoe is exactly what I need. The style and shape are perfect, classic Keen. But I was fooled by the product photos. I thought I was getting a leather and nylon strap shoe. In the photos, the lining upper LOOKS like leather. The footbed looks like cork. In reality, the shoe is lined with garbage foam material. At this price point, I was not expecting that. This is a sandal, so those materials will be rubbing up against bare skin on hot days. There is still a little leather trim, so the shoe is not water friendly. I went back and found that these details are, in fact, available on the website BUT COLLAPSED and therefore not visible on the product page. That's misleading. It seems that by launching a new Luxe sandal, Keen is quietly downgrading the materials on other shoes. I guess my options now are to order a special Luxe version, although the straps arrangement on that product are not well suited for fit and more likely to pinch during walking.
