I am 5’3 and husband is 5’10” and we were able to use the same settings, though it is very adjustable. I carried her up a strenuous trail (3.5 miles / 1500 ft elevation gain) and felt so cushioned and grateful for this pack. I carried her up the ladder at the Notch Trail in Badlands with her on my back also. We were able to fit plenty of extras in it as well! Overall the pack is very well built with high quality fasteners and stitching. If there was one thing I’d like to see added it would be a water bladder reservoir pocket but I think the existing pouches will work for this. Pack feels good with my 22 lb boy in-tow.
