Very Warm

I purchased this a month ago. I’ve used it twice with my son for camping very warm. What’s the wrong color but it is still OK.

Decent Bag For Price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought for my son as his really nice "other brand" bag is too small for him now. Bag is fluffy and warm which is what he needed as he doesn't use a sleeping pad. On the downside the fluffy insulation doesn't compress well so it is bulky in a backpack. String bag is also very cheap and probably won't last more than once or twice out. Will have to use a different bag very soon. For the price it met just what he wanted (wide shoulders and big head opening).

Works Great!

I bought it a month ago for my son’s science camp. He loved it and he stayed warm.

Kelty 40 Degree Bag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this bag for my husband to use at the end of Oct in southern Utah. I was SHOCKED at how narrow the bag is and how tiny it is in general. We haven’t even used it yet and I want to get him a new bag…he thinks it will be OK and wants to try it before he relinquishes it to a grand kid. My husband is not a big guy, 5’8…190 lbs (he’s been described as stocky). We will see!

Comfortable, Breathable, Nice Size.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this as a summer big wall bag for warmer nights. Works great, feels durable. Opens up nicely to allow for even cooler sleeping. Can’t comment on durability as I’ve only used it a handful of times but for the price it seems like a great option. Fit my Nemo mummy sleeping pad inside the bag perfectly.

Just Meh

Zipper broke the first attempt to use it, couldn’t be fixed. Store didn’t want to replace but very reluctantly did since I had only owned it for a grand total of 5 days.

It Fits!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this pack for teenagers to use in warmer conditions. I needed a bag that was both in my price range and that would fit in the sleeping bag compartment of my pack. This pack was the right choice!

Solid For The Price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought two of these for my wife and I as we try to get into backpacking on a budget. Tested them out three nights now, two in our tent. Overall, they’re pretty solid. We were out in the summer with lows in the 60s/70s, so I can’t speak to the temp rating accuracy much, but I wasn’t dying of heat in them, which tends to be a problem for me as a sleeper with this type of material. I think they could be a solid option if you’re on a budge and also buy a separate compression bag for backpacking. My biggest complaint is that the zipper doesn’t wrap all the way around at your feet. I’m assuming this is for warmth and based on the bag shape, though, because fully unzipping wouldn’t allow you to use it as a blanket. In all, great value for the price and would buy again.

Keeps Me Crazy And Warm!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the price Kelty always has great products! You can get quality stuff for the right price. This sleeping bag is great! Keeps me warm and cozy! Easy to roll back up and get back.into bag. Doesn't take up room like my old sleeping bags. If you are 6ft plus be sure to get the longer version.

Worked At 40

I bought this sleeping bag for warmer weather where my 10 degree bag would be too uncomfortable. I figured to test the bag to its rating to get an idea of its performance. Weather said low for the night would be 45, so perfect time to test. I used this in a Kelty Tanglewood 2, with an Extremus (R-value 3.0) sleeping pad and a very thin ozark trail sleeping bag liner. Had lightweight nylon pants and a lightweight sweatshirt on. The temperature got down to 37 and I was not cold, not super warm but with the shoulder draw string tightened up I was comfortable. I wouldn't take it much colder than that. I sleep a little on the warm side so that may have helped, but to me the sleeping bag lives up to the rating.

Great Bag For The Money!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my 8 year old son. Granted he’s 8.... but no time before he’s in an adult size bag. This bag is great! He loves it! I have the Mistral 20° and this seems to be just as great as what I have (I just get colder almost always).

Good For The Price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very warm. Great value for the price. We purchased one for each of our family members. If you are over 6ft tall, you need to get the long version as it will be snug. But otherwise, good!

Decent Bag For The Money

Decent bag for the price. Doesn’t seem warm enough for 40 degrees but that’s why it’s less than $75.
