Features I Wasn't Expecting

I wasn't using this paddle for its intended use, I was using it for an art project, but the description is missing a few key points. First, mine came with a giant knot in the middle of the paddle which, okay, it's wood, that's always a possibility but it wasn't a pleasant surprise (also,those can fall out into your food, if using it for its intended use) . Second, there were cross hatched grooves cut into the handle. Third, there is a giant King Kooker burned brand on one side of the paddle. Had any of these things been in the description I would not have bought it.

This Product Had Great Potential.

I was really excited finding this item online at Dick's. It was just what I was looking for, when we process Maple Syrup in the spring and Tomato Sauce in the fall for canning. When I received the stirring Paddle you can't imagine my disappointment when I took it out of the package and found a huge knot in the main part of the paddle right where you do all the stirring of the liquid in the cooking pot. Not only is there a good chance the knot would come out of the paddle but also, all of the cracks in the knot can collect food particles that would get rancid between uses. This type of paddle should be one solid piece of wood with no defects.

Timely Delivery - But Arrived Broken

I was very happy that my product arrived in a timely fashion so that I could use it for a planned event. However, upon opening the box and removing the product, I was disappointed to see that the paddle had a small split on the end of it. Since I needed the product the next day - I broke off the split piece and used it instead of returning it. Great product for the outdoor stew that I cooked - I just need it to be in good shape when I get it. An excellent rating were it not for the paddle being broken upon delivery
