Good Little Tent

I'm not an outdoor expert at all but we needed a easy to pack tent for easy hike ins and camp and this fit the bill. Have not put it to bad weather but so far so good.

Roomy Tent, But Low Ceiling

I picked up a bigger tent for my wife and dog so that we can car camp and be comfortable. The tent is pretty easy to set up as long as you first stake the 4 main corners on the footprint and the tent itself. The opening is big and pretty easy to get into. The material seems durable, and it's very easy to pack it back up when you're done. A few things that could be improved upon is that the ceiling is very low. Even for shorter people, if you're not sitting directly under the center, you have to bend your head down even while seated. The rear door is also not easily accessible if you have the rain fly installed. There is no zipper on the back side, so if you want to get anything, you have to go through the tent to get to the back door. Outside of those things, the tent is great! It has a couple overhead pockets for your nightlight, glasses, phone and keys, and the included aluminum stakes are really nice and easy to use.

Awesome Backpacking Tent!

Used this tent on a backpacking trip to Colorado in late May. Was light and easy/quick to set up and break down! Would highly recommend for anyone getting into backpacking!

Fits All 4 Of Us

great backpacking tent for the 4 of us. Well built and easy to set up.

Great Three Season Tent!

I recently put my Maxfield 2 to the test camping at the base of Killington for a ski weekend! The good: The tent survived 4+ inches of heavy wet snow Both sleeping bags and pads stayed dry The vestibule is a great size for putting shoes and small bags. The bad: The guy-lines are a little weird... there are two that attach to an eyelet that slides along the rain fly (attached at two points). When you pull on either of these double-guy-lines they have a tendency to pull the two attachment points together and create a bit of loose fabric between them. This isn't the end of the world, we were just trying to get maximum security in the tent to support the snow that was falling. Not enough stakes. The tent doesn't have enough stakes to use all of the guy lines! Again, not a deal-breaker since stakes are cheap and I often won't be using all of them, but if I had known that ahead of time, I would have bought an extra 4 stakes in order to get the maximum stability out of the tent. Awkward exit. The zipper on the rainfly extends all the way to the bottom of the rain fly. This is incredibly difficult to reach from inside the tent. You basically have to sprawl across the vestibule (in our case, onto the wet ground) to reach the zipper. Because the vestibule is angled so sharply to the ground, this also means that your face/shoulder/arm is all rubbing against the wet rain fly as you reach for the zipper. Perhaps a larger foot print underneath the vestibule would help with this, but it's just a lot easer when the vestibule opens along the edge closest to the tent.
