Rated 5 out of 5 by from High durability, Higher Comfort. Handles big shoulders NO problem Since purchasing this pad 4 months ago, I have put it through more nights on the ground than I thought I ever would. As a backcountry ranger, this summer I have sleep on rocks, on grass, on gravel, and practically in a swamp and the Static V just keeps on taking the abuse. Still holding air like when I bought it.I am large guy 6' 2" 180lbs and have always had problems with my shoulders hitting the ground through my pads, unless I blow them up very full #which hinders overall comfort#. Klymit seems to have figured out the middle ground; enough air to keep my shoulders on the ground, but enough give for a comfortable sleeping platform.Excited to see what else these guys have in their line up

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Use This is a great mat. Comfortable and easy to use. Directions say it takes 10-15 breaths to inflate, but it took me about 20 breaths. It was very quick to inflate. The hardest part about inflating it is figuring out how the valve works. You have to twist and pull up or down at the same time. Once you get it, it's easy. The mat itself is surprisingly comfortable. It's light and compact. You can quickly and easily roll it up and put it in its carrying back. Very lightweight. Aside from using for camping, my son likes to use it on the living room floor to watch TV. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Side Sleepers should love this. Full disclosure: I will not give anything a 5 star rating unless it is perfect. For example Blade Runner would get 5 stars. I really like this pad. Good: 1. I like orange. 2. It inflates easy (but my breaths must be smaller than theirs). 3. I used this when I weighed 240 lbs and could sleep on my side without my hip poking to the ground. 4. It actually fits in it's stuff sack. 5. It was warm in February with snow on the ground in Yosemite with a 20 degree down bag and a fleece. How I would like it better: 1. If it was lighter. 2. If it had a way to affix it to sleeping bag so you don't roll off of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go-to I bought my Klymit pad well over a year ago, and at the time I had no idea what to really expect. I mainly bought it as an extra pad for friends to use, but instead it's turned into my favorite. I'm primarily a side sleeper and it works like a dream. Everyone who sees me unpack it is amazed at how small it rolls ups. Even though I don't go backpacking (yet), I'm still a huge fan of packing light. This pad helps me do just that. It's biggest drawback for me is the low R-value, but even then it still makes for a quality 3-season pad. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes cool temp backpacking comfortable and warm On a spring backpacking trip with pretty chilly evening temps this worked well. At the time I only had one of these. We had 3 women in a tent, myself and another with the regular static v and the Raynaud's syndrome woman in the insulated version. The regular gals were freezing and didn't sleep well due to the cold, but the insulated kept the woman with Raynauds comfortable :) All the statics have changed backpacking for me! I NEED comfort, and these deliver. As long as I'm warm, I sleep awesome in these. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful for a side sleeper When I was in the Scouts decades ago I could use a blue foam pad. My son now uses that. I have to sleep on my side and this pad makes that comfortable. On a trip with my son's Scout Troop I slept on a wood tent platform and never felt the platform. The one suggestion I can offer to users is that the pad can actually be blown up too much. I usually end up letting a bit of air out of it so that the V shaped baffles can do there thing. I like the pad enough that I bought the insulated one for my wife for summer, and me in the winter. She doesn't go there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from unbeatable for the size and price I have had my static V for a couple years now and it's been great. I got it on sale as I was needing something but didn't want to spend $$$. It has quick setup, comfy at night, and easy to fold up and put back in the sack, unlike some products that require you to be an origami master to put it away. Klymit does an awesome job. I have upgraded to the Static V Luxe insulated for any car camping for the extra room and R value but my original static size and weight when packing, or my kids if car camping.
