Worked great. Easy to bait and empty. Catch secures easily and dumps out fast.

I previously purchased the same Lee Fisher Wire Crab Traps last year and was impressed with the quality of the trap. The low profile of the trap allows me to transport several traps on the boat. In strong tidal areas, weight will need to be added to keep the trap from drifting away. I added a one piece formed rebar steel rod with tie straps to the bottom outer sides of the trap. I coated the rebar steel rod with a spray rubber coating to minimize salt water corrosion. This was the only modification I had to make to the traps other than adding the float and rope. A boat recently hit one of the crab traps and bent it like a pretzel. I straightened it out by hand and it looks like new again without any damage to the trap wire. Well made and catches crab is why I bought more.

When spending this kind of money on a crab trap, you would think that the throw rope would be included. No biggie, just an idea

This was the exact trap I was looking for. My grandfather was a waterman by trade and these were the traps he used. I'm pleased mine has lasted over 18 months as the salt water is starting to gnaw at it. Yet, it comes coated to prolong its life. I've caught so many crabs with this trap with many different sizes, but mainly the bigger ones as the trap is made to let the little ones go, which is fine by me. I live and trap on inlet water ways, so some fish sometimes wander inside the trap. I either clean them or will use them as bait. The bait cage is plenty big enough to house the chicken legs I use as bait. Great trap for the price. There is no need to go for more expensive ones....

Works well, I believe this will last a while for me, as many break prematurely. Wished it came with a rope and better bouy.

Great price and this trap works! Buy more than one.

This pot works great, the only downfall is getting them out. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but an improvement would be a door that fully opens for removal of crabs. 4 keeper crabs in the first night, about 12 hrs

Everywhere else this trap is backordered because of how effective is. Dicks had in stock and it arrived in a few days.

Good sturdy trap. Catches the big crabs and lets the ones that are too little get away. It works best with the side with the bait trap door sitting on the bottom of the canal where we crab.. We place it close to the peer where they like to hide. Works well in shallow or deep water as our tides go up and down. Over night, we may get two -three crabs a day. we use chicken legs and found the more bait you use, we catch bigger crabs. Be sure to add bait every day. Chicken legs are cheap! Hppy crabbing!

The bait trap is simple - no cumbersome tying and setting up the bait. The trap is sturdily built. Like the vinyl coating of the mesh so no worries about corrosion.Maybe I did not place the trap in a good location but no crabs in the first two trys.I will change rating to 5 stars if I catch any crabs.
