POOR QUALITY, BAD WARRANTY: I bought this just under 2 years ago and am a relatively casual freshwater fisherman in lakes and rivers. I decided on the Lew's Mach 2 because of the reputation the company has, and the positive feedback of the rod/reel combo itself. I used the rod properly when it comes to line, bait, location, targeted species, etc. I hooked a fish in the river the other night...wish I could tell you what it was, but the rod snapped! I reached out to Lew's customer service since I bought this rod/reel less than 2 years ago. They informed me that it only has a 1 year warranty...a $120 product! The customer service rep at Lew's could only offer me 25% off...no thanks not paying more money for a "Low-quality Lew's" Shame on me for not researching the warranty more when I was shopping. I just never thought that A) I'd have to use the warranty on a Lew's product and B) if I did, that it would be such a poor warranty. AVOID LEW'S low-quality, cheap rods! Go BUY AN UGLY STIK instead! Very happy with mine thus far after having to replace my snapped Lew's. Ugly Stik offers a far superior product line when it comes to quality, and the warranty is incredible.
