I read about this combo online and thought I'd give it a shot. for the price i couldn't go wrong. and how right I was! This reel has specs exceeding those twice the price and the rod's length is perfect for those tight locations. Thinking of purchasing another before they stop production.

Great Rod And Reel Combo.
Nice rod and reel combo. Only downfall is dicks zip ties the reel to the pole and you can scratch the rod trying to get it off.

Do Not Buy Fishing Rods From Dick's
Let me start by saying the fishing rod itself is awesome, Lews rods never disappoint. I especially like the reel on this rod and the green and white color combination is nice. My issue and the reason for a lower rating is entirely to do with Dicks and their packaging. The rods do not come in a tube, they come zip tied a large box. The first rod I received the box was demolished, there was no bubble wrap, no padding of any sort. We opened it to find the rod dented and broken in spots (mainly small plastic pieces around the eyelids). Several of the eyelids were bent up and or twisted sideways. Days later Dick's sent a replacement rod, this time the box was cut and had a huge hole in the center. The rod was in better shape than the first one but still had bent-up eyelids. It's not worth the hassle of returning these rods ever to order one again. Dick's needs to use hard tubes like every other store does when shipping one.
