Great Hoop For Beginners

Full disclosure, I was sent this hoop and asked to write an honest review. I think this is a great basketball hoop for kids. My kids are not avid ball players but they have enjoyed playing basketball with this hoop since we got it assembled. Assembly was fairly straightforward. Watching the videos helped a lot with assembly. My 13 year old daughter was able to do a lot of the assembly by herself with supervision. There were a couple times that holes did not line up perfectly and it took a little more work to get the screws in place. Overall I would say assembly was pretty simple and took about 2-2.5 hours. The hoop is pretty stable once the base is filled. We filled ours with water because that is what we had on hand, but will probably change it out to sand later because we live where the temperatures get cold and the kids want to be able to use the hoop when weather allows. Adjusting the height of the hoop was fairly easy. I wouldn't say it was the easiest hoop to adjust the height on but it wasn't too difficult. When filled with water it was a little more difficult to move the hoop around, younger kids would definitely need an adult's help to move the hoop. While playing a game I felt the rebound of the hoop was as expected. When bouncing off the backboard the ball came back in the direction you would expect when the shot was missed. When aiming your shots off the backboard you seemed pretty accurate. The rim seems to be very sturdy. My 13 year old tried to dunk the ball and the rim held up as expected, didn't notice any bend. Overall I feel that this is a great basketball hoop for beginner and even intermediate players. It definitely isn't a top of the line hoop but it is a great starter hoop and is a great value for the price. The parts seem sturdy and made of good quality materials. I think this hoop will last a long time and will be a great addition to the backyard for my kids.

Gets The Kids Outside!

Gets the kids outside! This is a good size basketball hoop that can work in a small or big space. Kids age 4-14 have all said they like it. We have the hoop on the lowest setting and everyone can shoot comfortably. It is adjustable, but it will take you a minute to raise/ lower it as it’s just a screw that you remove and place in the hole you want for different heights. The rim is a nice heavy metal with paint to prevent rust, so it should hold up in the weather for a long time. The rebound on the backboard is pretty decent considering it’s a stand one hoop. We filled our base with water and it worked great( we had a windstorm & it didn’t budge)! It take awhile to assemble, but wasn’t terrible about an hour. Just make sure you are following the correct instructions for the 2 different types of backboards listed in the instructions.

Amazing Starter Hoop.

This is a great starter basketball hoop. We currently have an in ground hoop that my teenagers play on, but we have a 5 year old that can't keep up with the big boys. He's going to love this Basketball Hoop. It's perfect size for him now and gives him plenty of growing room as he gets older and taller. We have it on the lowest setting as a beginner, but love how easy it is to move it up as his skills increase. Now he can feel included in the evenings shooting hoops after dinner. Set up. We started out with myself and my 16 year old son. It looked like it was going to take us a couple of hours at the rate we were going. I do love how the instructions give you a qr code for each part of the set up if you get stuck and don't understand the instructions. the qr code links to a Youtube video showing you how to do it. That was very helpful for a novice like me. About 1/2 hour into the process my husband and another teenage son came home and started helping and we had the whole thing set up within an hour. It was very helpful to have one person giving instructions and 2 people to carry it out. I became the supervisor! Love that the base is just filled with water. The basketball hoop is sturdy. The backboard has a nice rebound. Overall I would recommend this hoop to anyone who has a young child just starting out. It will grow with them for many years.

Great Starter Hoop- Kids Love It!

I would definitely recommend having 2 people to assemble this hoop. The directions aren’t well written but you can figure it out. I like that it is moveable and the base is filled with water and not sand- much easier to move with the base emptied. My kids LOVE IT! We have it set at full height and my 11 year old has no problem using it. Make sure you have two people to adjust the height, it is heavy. I think it’s a good product for the price- great starter hoop.

Lifetime Family

My 10 and 12 year old adore basketball as much as I do. It is a great bonding time with them and gets them out of the house. This basketball hoop was pretty easy to put together with my husband. We got it done in one afternoon with the kids playing right after. The hoop is incredibly sturdy for wild kids and wild shots. The rebound is impressive with my kids not having to run too much and the rim can handle a lot with the kids both using their own basketballs at once. We’re excited to have family basketball games and games of h.o.r.s.e together. Lifetime brands has always made quality items and we’re excited to add another to our home.
