We initially purchased another brand of basketball hoop but then decided that we wanted an in-ground system instead. We ultimately went with the Lifetime Crank Adjust In-Ground Basketball Hoop, Model 90568, and used Dick’s third-party installation service.
That installation process was a nightmare! The hoop was finally installed by AIT on July 5th.
Today, I looked everything over just to visually inspect the hoop, as this was purchased for my oldest son’s birthday. To my disbelief, after being installed for barely TWO MONTHS, the welds at the bottom of the pole are already RUSTING! This hoop has barely been exposed to the elements for two months!
I have called Lifetime’s support line multiple times and have yet to get ahold of an actual person. I am beyond angry. This is completely unacceptable. A basketball hoop that has been installed for such a short amount of time should NOT already be showing signs of rust and what appears to be poor workmanship.
Unfortunately, this seems to be the reality of 2026—you simply don’t get much value for your money anymore. For what we paid for this hoop, along with professional installation, seeing rust after barely two months is absolutely unacceptable!
I will continue trying to reach someone through your support number, and I have also sent an email.
We want this issue addressed and corrected ASAP!

Although put together per instructions and kids are way too short to touch rim, much less hang on rim, the glass broke on its own. The wind should not have been a factor.

Awesome Hoop
Great hoop pretty easy to put together, the only problem when installing into th4e cement, the screws kept bending in so the top above the cement was tilting out. We ended up having to put the bottom portion of the pole on just to keep them semi straight and then we couldn't take it off because they were bent out and we would strip the screws. We had to build it standing up because of that.

Hoop It Up
Directions were clear and I used both booklet and YT video. Impressive curb appeal when all said and done. No complaints so far. You can assemble it mostly by yourself until you need to attach the backboard and lift it up into place.
Comes in 1 box. Just level out your concrete plate and the rest will level out when installing - no need to monkey with the nuts.
Only concern or curiosity I have is bolt AEO on the base plate has no instructions for final assembly. Not sure the purpose of it.
Post does have wobble after shots but this does not affect the game. It’s awesome and a lot of fun.

Great Hoop
I vouch this two weeks ago and the hoop up Saturday so concrete cured for a week. This hoop has strong base and was pretty easy to install, although If I had to do it again I would pay for install. The tempered glass, rim, and how sturdy was major upgrade from our last hoop. DSP staff recommended this one over what I was looking at because it is more sturdy and it is.

After 2 months of waiting on the weather to cooperate, I was finally able to install the basketball hoop. The instructions online was some of the best I have ever used. Very clear and easy to follow. Along with the writing instructions, this was one of the easiest installs I have come across. The bonus for me was how great it looked in the driveway.
