I bought this a month ago, and it holds me and all 3 of my dogs! I only wish it had handles on the sides.

Sturdy And Fun With Young Children--poor Seat Design

We bought this kayak for use in a pond near our home. We have 2 young grandchildren and the sit on top tandem is perfect for getting them on the water. The kayak is sturdy--a bit heavy--but stable and comfortable with an adult and 2 smalls. The kids love getting on and paddling. However, the seat design is poor. Seats are movable and anchored by a series of straps and clips that pop off the moment any real weight is placed against the seat backs. This makes comfortable sitting on the kayak a challenge. We have already lost one clip and must continuously reattach the others. I wish the seat backs were molded vinyl that slid into various slots. Again, great for young children and especially for relaxed, short distance paddling.

Bought this and a Pacer for my boys' birthdays. Tried them out for the first time today. Good times! The Kokanee is quite stable. It's a little heavy and bulky on land, but handled easily enough by two people. Handles well in the water. I purchased padded seat bottoms, as I was told a long trip would be uncomfortable without them. Only complaint I can possible come up with is it was missing a couple small parts.

We have owned this kayak for almost 8 years. Aside from the seat back and clips that attach it eventually breaking, we have had zero problems. I contacted customer service and they had a shipment (at no cost to us) in the mail within 24 hours with replacement parts. Myself and multiple of my children use this kayak for summer fun and fishing. I love using it with my toddlers because it is SO stable, you almost cannot turn it over even if you wanted to. Excellent for a family style kayak adventure on the lake, or those who prefer more stability. We have even taken this one to the ocean twice and used for fishing, it withstands the waves and proved very useful for dropping bait. Only downside that comes with the stability, of course, is it is quite heavy to move. Luckily, ours does not go far.

Good Quality, But Heavy

Really like this kayak. Well built and tons of fun in the water. I like the flexible seating configuration. We can easily get three people on this thing, no problem. I took my boys fishing and had me and two boys on it fishing together and it was great. Plenty of room. Stable on the water. It is super heavy though, so it is a beast to lug around. Most kayaks and can I put on the roof of our suburban by myself, but this one I need help. So just be aware. It says it only weighs 77 lbs, but this thing is at least 100 lbs, no joke. Makes it really sturdy on the water. Also, I don’t like that there are drain holes in the boat. It causes water to seep in and gets my butt wet. Not a huge deal, but I like to stay dry ya know? Otherwise it’s a great boat. Good investment since these last forever and hold their value. Used ones sell for the same price as new.

I spent some time researching - wanted a above-type Kayak for two people / and or myself and my (65lb.) dog. We bought our first kayak, the Kokanee, from the first owner of it. We're really happy with it, it's easy to maneuver with one or two people and we've never been close to tipping it. It is a little heavy to load onto the top of our Jeep, but not unmanageable. The straps for the chairs were messed up when we got it and I called customer service to see about buying new straps for them. Ian was super helpful - he asked me for the numbers on the kayak and found that the kayak was still under warranty. So they sent me replacement straps for the chairs for free, even though I wasn't the original owner! This kayak and the customer service has made it easy for us to have fun kayaking and if we get another kayak we'll definitely look into the Lifetime products. Thanks Lifetime!
