Son went thru 2 ADV Hypes in less than 2 years. Those BBCOR bats are engineered to eat your wallet and break quickly. So he decided to try this bat which was on sale for $50 off (We paid $349). He liked the limited edition patriotic graphics, which contrast nicely to the hypercolor neons other people are rocking. First off, the bat hit hard. The sweet spot is pretty generous too, like a top-shelf bat should offer. However, this bat HURTS! Even with his Bruce Bolt gloves, the sting on nearly every hit is jarring. He's a big high school lefty first baseman, and not some little middle infielder, so he's used to swinging for the fences. This bat has a unique, high-pitched "ding!" sound to go along with that hard sting. But, as he says, the power it generates, which he says is "A LOT" more than the ADV Hype had, is worth it.
