Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great training batt I bought this for my 10 year old son. He was struggling with bat speed. The weight is a little heavy for the size but that’s what I was looking for. He has practiced with this bat all summer. Now when he picks up the aluminum bat he said it feels like a feather. Plus his bat speed has increased. He will probably make the transition to a maple bat soon. All in all Bay has held up very well. Players need to know there is a proper way to hit with wooden so they last longer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for actual use in batting My twelve year old broke this on third day of use in practice batting. He prefers the feel and sound of wooden bat to aluminum, so now back to shop for something a little more durable.. ...cant return bats? really??? had it only a couple weeks, so lesson learned and will buy next bat somewhere else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from cheap bat We bought this for my 12 year old a month ago for indoor batting practice. It broke after the third use while hitting baseballs off a tee. It was a $20 bat, we knew it was a cheapy and we bought it because we figured it would be a good practice bat, and we know wood bats break but it would have been nice for it to last a little longer. Especially because it was hitting on a tee, not even against live pitches.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice first wood bat With the new USA Baseball bat standards, I wanted my son to practice swinging with a wood bat before the season starts. He seems to really like the balance of the wood bat over his other aluminum and composite bats even though it's a little heavier. The finish of the bat is a little rough, so I sanded downed the knob before putting on some bat grip. Overall, the Louisville Slugger 225 is a really nice wood bat for the money.
