Defective Unit

Since I purchased the Lowrance HDS LIVE in November 2022 it has not worked properly on 12 outing during my guide services. With this unit I purchased C-MAP REVEAL M-NA-Y211-MS, and Lowrance Point 1 GPS Module. After setting and saving all preferences and attributes on the unit, I am losing all each time I take the unit out to fish whether it be in the same area or a different river within the map limits. All attributes and settings are lost each time. Just to get the depth to display on the screen when using sonar mode, I have to reset that info display each time. Yes, reset or NO depth numbers appear. The map that comes up when turned on repeatedly using chart mode is unrecognizable or freezes until a reboot or another restart. The C-MAP REVEAL features, settings and attributers are lost each time the unit is turned on. This is an important tool for me when guiding clients. They sense my frustration and disappointment with the HDS LIVE setup. It left the factory defective. You should not have to update any software or operating system straight out of the box. It has been sent to Lowrance service center for eval and servicing at my expense of course.

What A Great Product!

I up graded from the 90’s to the HDS 9 ! I really did not know what I was missing while fishing with my old unit. The clarity of this unit is amazing. I went over the good areas I have fished in the past and noticed I been fishing it wrong... just did not know until I was looking with my new HDS unit. More fun catching fish.

Just What I Was Looking For

I bought this for my new boat, a Shamrock 270 Mackinaw. My previous boat had the HDS Carbon 3d-Structure Scan 9". Now that was an awesome fishfinder. However, the HDS LIVE has just upped the game. Though I do not have the 3d structure scan, the HDS LIVE does present a better image in the side scanning and 2d structure views. The touch display is awesome and so easy to use in setting up way points. What more can I say, its a homerun!

Still Working With It

I bought my HDS-9 Live with three in one transducer about a month ago and just got it in. The 4 G radar is asum. Great for the quick fog we get in the Pacific NW. I fish in the Pacific out of Newport OR. The HDS Live, well lets say the verdict is still out. I will need to watch more youtube to get it dialed in. It would seem that side view and down view are more for shallow water. We fish usually in 200' up to 50'. Doesn't work very well in the murky Ocean. It might work good on the east coast or the gulf with the clear water but not so good out here. The live mapping is nice if you have the time to go back and forth plotting. The area we fish is 30 miles long by 25+ miles out to sea, that is a lot of back and forth charting the bottom.
