Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works fantastic I purchased this to transport my new kayak. I wanted the deluxe because the foam pads were wider than the standard version. Instructions were easy to follow and set up went a little slow at first. But after assembling/disassembly a few times, as in anything, you get more adept and takes no time to put up/take down. I noticed a very loud vibration at 45 mph+ from the forward straps that pass through the cabin. The wind was causing cavitation on the strap. I have read about this in other tie down strap reviews. The SIMPLE SOLUTION to avoid the vibration: tie down should be flat over kayak, the space between kayak and car body is the problem area for vibration, so twist the strap 3-4 times making a spiral. Then continue passing the strap flat thru the car and connect to other side. Problem solved. The foam pads are good quality and do not scratch the roof. Be sure to position the foam blocks on a solid part of the roof where there is no flex. There are these points on all roofs for structural support. By doing this you will avoid roof damage that I have also read about in other reviews. I feel very confident when I have everything tied down properly for a safe trip. Excellent product and workmanship.
