So Far It Works Good!

The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star is because I'm still getting used to the product, and I used it to transport items that 99% of the people on these reviews are not transporting. I believe almost every single review on here has to do with someone transporting a canoe, kayak, paddle/surfboard, or something else like that. All of those have ways of easily securing them to the roof. I on the other hand was using this product to transport pole vault poles back to another school. The poles are made of fiberglass and were bouncing around a fair amount even though I had them secured really well. I was scared out of my mind that one might break and I would have to refund the high school because one pole in the length that I had is easily $600+ brand new. I had 2 of these poles, and did not want to replace 4 kayaks worth of pole vault poles. I would highly recommend purchasing this, but like I said, I still have to figure out how to transport poles in a safer method.

I Was Skeptical... But It Won Me Over

My daughter wanted a kayak, but I didn't want to buy a roof rack for my SUV. I saw these inflatable devices on the shelf and did some research. The online reviews were mostly positive. A few people said they blew out the air bladders with over loading and few others warned that sitting in the hot sun while under load might cause them to fail. Another review mentioned a modification after the bladder failed where the guy put PVC pipes wrapped in pool noodles into the space where the bladder would go. So, I figured that I could try these out and if I popped them, I'll try the pool noodle trick and still be spending less than rails, bars, and installation on my car. My daughter's kayak sits nicely on this rack. I have also used them to move some long lumber and a piece of large, but lightweight furniture. The straps are very secure but I might buy some ratcheting straps for extra security on the freeway. If you have a car with no roof rack and you don't want to install one just to carry some light watercraft or the occasional 12-16' piece of lumber from the hardware store, this is the way to go.

So Pleased! I Highly Recommend!!!!

This is one of my better purchases lately. It does everything it says it does. I was a little hesitant but I tried it and i'm so happy I did. My kayak is so secure on top of my Honda CRV using the Malone Inflatable roof racks. So easy to put on and take down.

Great Idea For Car That Doesnt Have Runners

Only down fall is it absorbs water and drips in the car from straps and door jams, covered with tubing and wrapped towels around so it doesnt leak so bad

Sturdy And D Rings Make Them Super Convenient

I have had a pair of these for years. Tough as nails and the D rings along the top are genius. I've carried everything on them including hang glider wings. Don't believe the negative naysayers. These are great!

I Do Not Recommend

One trip - they stay inflated on the way to river so I left them on the car while I went down the river and when I got back one set was deflated. I re-inflated it and by the time I got home (1/2 hour) it was deflated again. I am returning them back to the store.

Great Design Badly Built

The pads are a great design but the materials and the way it is built it is poor in execution. My set of pads would inflate easily. and deflate Within a few minutes without even having a kayak on it. Do not buy save your money.

Do Not Recommend

I purchased this product in July 2016. It worked well the first two times I took my kayak out, but after that would not hold air. Because the chambers would not hold air, my kayak caused a lot of denting and scratching to the roof of my car. Don't waste your money.

Easy Set Up And Safe

I am a female and I found this very easy to set up. It also was very safe, compared to other traditional foam block and cam buckle tie downs. My only recommendation would be to add a set of tie downs for front and back as well for convenience and making it ready to mount and go. Very reasonably priced. Dicks delivery is a bit long however. This is also nice for paddle board and surf boards as well.

Did Its Job...but....

Bought this product to take a kayak to OBX from VA. It did its job however we did get some rain on the way down and the fabric soaked up some rain causing it get wet inside the car because the water that soaked into the fabric ran through the strap in the door leading to some of the roof interior to get wet around the 4 car doors. This is nothing that is directly the products doing but just some food for thought. Also you should run a strap or bungee from the rear and front of the kayak to your cars tow hooks just to hold it down a bit better because it does bounce in the wind while driving. This will impact your MPG in the car as well. I only faced a few issues with using this rack for a kayak that I should have thought of before using (rain and bungees as stated). Over all the product did its job both too and from and packs up very nicely. I will use this again if needed and would recommend it mostly for short trips if you can (around 1 to 2 hrs) mainly because of weather anything longer it would probably be worth while to look into a hard rack.

Used 2 Times Both Bladders Leak.

Used one time and really liked the way it worked, second time one bladder started to leak before the kayak was put on it, when the kayak was put on and we noticed the the front one was leaking, the back one started to leak before we got the kayak off.

Great Purchase...worth Every Penny

I have wanted to buy a small kayak for quite some time, but I have a small car with no rack support. I was pleased to find out about the Handirack system. It is great! Considering this is the first time I have used anything like this, I was happy to find that it was as easy to use as my research had suggested. I got my kayak and am now able to enjoy the fun I've always wanted! I highly recommend it!

Great For The Price.

Only used it a few times so far and it works well. It's not hard to put on & off.

Affordable Product But Don't Use When Raining

Is the most affordable product on the market for the type of vehicle I have. I have a Ford Fusion. If functions the way that it needs to. The first time I use this that happens to be raining out. The moisture accumulated on the exterior straps and ended up causing a steady drip on the inside of the car at all for door frames. The way the straps are designed to attach to the car, affects the Integrity of the seal at every door frame, which caused the water to get inside the car. If you need to drive on the interstate, you're going to definitely need to buy additional straps for the front and back of a kayak. The two straps provided or not enough to secure a kayak while driving at interstate speeds. I had to pull over to tighten the straps a couple times which had loosened considerably in just 20 minutes on the interstate. It's very easy to set up. If you don't have the kayak place just right on the top of the car, and it makes a horrible loud sound while driving at higher speeds.

Worked Great.

Scared to use it at first for my kayak. But it worked perfectly.
