So Light & Comfortable That You’ll Forget About It Until It Saves Your Life.

This is my go to all around alpine activity helmet. I got it for long distance approaches to climbing, skiing and paragliding launches. Its difficult for me to find helmets I like as I have very long hair and prefer to fly with a hat but the adjustments make it easy for me to keep a bun and a hat comfortably. I will be ordering another one for sure after this on saved my life during a hard landing and tumble in a scree field above treeline, allowing me to safely hike out with some minor cuts and bruises instead of needing a rescue.

Nice Helmet

My son picked this helmet out and he said it fits well and is comfortable.

Fast, Light And Durable

From the moment I put the Mammut Wall Rider on I knew it was going to be a staple in my gear setup. I’ve worn many different climbing helmets on many different climbing adventures and they were all just ok. The Wall Rider on the other hand manages a lightweight, simple yet durable design instilling confidence. Allowing for countless hours of use and effectively eliminating neck fatigue (which I have suffered from due to many neck injuries and constant use of other types of helmets). It’s lightweight and durable design has been amazing when on long rescues, searches and recreational activities allowing me to focus on the task at hand rather than worrying about neck pain and fatigue. From rotor wash in the trees to a sunny day on the mountain the Mammut Wall Rider is ready to go.

Best Helmet Currently Available

This is in my opinion the best helmet on the market. It is lightweight, durable, and super comfortable. I've worn this helmet everywhere from the sport crags in Lander WY, to the top of the Grand Teton. It's comfy enough that it actually stays on my head. I would recommend this to anyone; as a beginner's first helmet or an upgrade for a seasoned veteran. I have a pretty small head, and the 52cm-57cm size is perfect for me. Great helmet, and often offered at a more affordable price than other comparable lightweight options.

Lightweight helmet. I’ve taken rocks to the head and it’s protected my noggin very well despite how lightweight it is.

Great Helmet

It's a great helmet. The only thing I don't like is that it makes my head look bigger

Good Helmet, Weird Sizing (For My Head At Least)

I ended up getting this helmet in both sizes s/m and m/l. The smaller size fit, but was snug and looked kind of funny on my head, so I gave it to a friend and got the larger size. With the larger size, there’s a decent sized gap between the front brim and my forehead. It still fits fine, but looks big on my head. The larger size works great for winter activities where I’m wearing something underneath the helmet. Overall, functional and good quality build. Maybe I just have an odd shaped head??

Mostly Good

Lightweight, fairly durable, simple but overall effective strap system and fit, looks decent. I broke one of the front headlamp clips rather easily. I found this headlamp strap attachment piece of plastic is also part of what affixes the strap to the helmet. I reached out about a replacement part, didn't get a response. I fixed it with crazy glue and recently rebroke it. So, be careful with those clips otherwise you're good.

Very adjustable and light. Used it for some climbing but also as a back up for some river and tubing experiences. Nice having the extra head protection up top!

Great Helmet But Not Comfy In The Back

Hard shell where you need it. Tightening system keeps it secure. Only downside is there are no internal cushions in the back (occipital lobe/cerebellum area) which makes it a tad uncomfortable there and it'd be nice to have a bit more cushion in case you take a whipper, flip upside and hit the back of your head against the wall. Other than that, fantastic helmet. Maybe in the next updated version they can add that? If they did, it'd likely be my favorite helmet ever.

Light Fast And Comfortable

This helmet is one of the lightest helmets I’ve ever used. I use it mainly for search and rescue missions where speed and weight are very important. The adjustment system is a little finicky. helmet is a little tight on the head. Might order a size up in order to have room for layers. This is a good helmet for anybody who needs a light helmet.

Superlight And Comfortable

Helmet fits very well, adjustable to fit my head perfectly, I forget that it is on my head. Weighs so little compared to my last helmet.

Excellent Overall Helmet

Have used this helmet several times and it fits well and is very comfortable. Haven't fallen on it but seems like it would do well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the MIPS variant is available and would offer superior protection.

Light, comfy, and feels safe. Had many concussions(unrelated to climbing) so its nice to have a helmet that doesn’t feel annoying to put on or wear for extended period of time

This helmet is so comfortable and light I forget I have it on. I repeatedly hiked out of ice crags and alpine environments not realizing I’m wearing my helmet until I knocked it on the roof of my car while getting in. The best helmet is the one you don’t know you’re wearing. I previously had an old petzl hard shell helmet and while comfortable, you knew you were wearing a helmet. We’ll see how this holds up long term, but after most of an ice climbing season, it’s still pristine.
