Breaks Apart Out Of Nowhere/unusable

Maybe I got a broken/defective one? The directions are super simple when assembling, but after clicking everything into place, it keeps snapping apart in sections when I try to hula hoop with both sizes and flinging the links everywhere, despite the connecters being fastened and even using extra force to make sure each link was pushed together. Will need to return for replacement or refund, if the second one has the same issues. I tried someone else’s which made me buy this as it was fun and comfortable, but this one seems broken
