Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for me I bought this bag on the same day I intended to first use it. That night, temperatures dropped to around 40° (what it's rated for), and I wasn't freezing to death. So, I'd call that a success. I am 5' 3" and there is plenty of wiggle room. Very compact and lightweight too. Glad I made this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Had this bag for 5 years This is the only bag I've had for years. Plenty of trips throughout Michigan in all 4 seasons. I first want to say 40 is the appropriate temp rating for this bag. As with all sleeping bags the temp rating is what you will survive, not be warm and comfortable. I've winter camped multiple times down to single digits Temps with this bag and of course plenty of layers. It all comes down to YOURE preparation. As far as durability I have been really hard on this bag. Totally dirt bagged and shows no signs of wear. Also being inexpensive and synthetic makes care easy. I would not buy another though. Only because a 20 EE revelation quilt is calling my name.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as Rated to Perform I selected this bag becaus of the name generally associated with quality, Marmot. I took this on a brief overnight Bow Hunting Trip in Powhatan County Virginia. My insulation was more than adequate, shielded from below by a Therm-A-Rest 4 insulating sleeping pad. Shelter overhead was a tarp shelter more than adequate as I had used this configuration before, I have been a backpacker since I was 12, I am 65 now. In front of the tarp I had a fire and until shortly after midnight the heat from the fire kept the bag warm, but as the night grew on it did get colder 50 degrees at 11pm at 2:30 it was 45 degrees, and I ened up taking the bag around 2;30 and sleeping on the seat of my truck, This bag though exclusively made for Dick's needs further development, I would recommend this for a summer bag but certainly not for a Fall/Mild Winter (cold weatehr bag below 50 degrees) I think the temperature rating needs to be re-evaluated and trust me right now one star is being very kind. I have used other Marmot products, ie tents and other sleeping bags, Nano 55 performed as stated, The Trestles30 , tent Limelight2P these have performed well, the Trestles I used in the SW USA in the Ansa Borrego Desert and it perfomed well on many chilly nights( radical temperature extremes 110 daytime to 40's overnight) This bag the minimalist was to say the least one of the biggest disappointments in bearing the Marmot name I have ever seen, I would not recommend this bag to anyone other than summer time use where temps do not go below 50 degrees.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not rated correctly To be comfortable in 50 degree weather I had to wear hiking socks+ base layer pants+ base layer top+ lambswool base layer+ medium thickness hoodie+ beanieso i don't agree with the 40 degree rating at all. I was barely comfortable even with all these clothes on. I would not use this bag below 55 degrees.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bag - don't believe the negative reviews... For all of you who are reading other reviews and keep seeing people complaining about warmth and size FEAR NOT, those individuals obviously had no idea what they were buying.ON WARMTH - this bag is rated for 40* and I would say it could go lower. For a synthetic bag to work, you should sleep in minimal clothing and let your natural body heat work with the bag. I slept comfortably in 35* weather on Gold Peak in NM in only boxers and socks because I allowed the bag to do what it was designed to. Layering clothing and jackets makes the bag pointless.ON SIZING - this is a "minimalist" bag, not a car camping bag. It is designed with size and weight in mind for individuals who trek for days at a time, not those who drive to a campsite and go home in the morning. That being said, I am a male (5'11" - 170lbs) and this bag is a snug fit. Most would probably consider this a woman's bag so if you are a male any taller or larger than I, l would suggest choosing another bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent bag for price! I needed something small for 8 nights in the Boundary Waters region of Canada. It didn't get below 50 the entire trip, and the bag was plenty warm. It is compact, lightweight and comes with it's own stuff sack. You would probably want something warmer if you are going to be out in sub 40 degree temps. Good 3 season bag.
