Rated 5 out of 5 by from Different color than pictured Love the pack. But ordered the blue and it's a complete different shade. Not the worst thing in the world just a little annoying. It would be awesome for the site to change the picture!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pack. Could be better I Really like this as overnight/weekend pack. Needs a few well placed external pockets tho. As a hiker/packer, its Perfect for hammock and stove and related gear. For Summer will be my standard pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellet for holding snowshoes I purchased some snowshoes and in a last minute decision, decided to purchase a pack to hold them on a hike rather than clipping them (hanging) to an existing pack. Worked perfectly, as if it it was designed for it! There is plenty of room on the bag, and it is comfortable. It works very well for me and happy with the knee jerk purchase when I normally review everything I buy for a long time. More pockets would be helpful, but when you have snowshoes strapped to it, they wouldn't be much help to you at that point anyway. Not the only pack you'll need, but when the situation is right it will be the best pack to have. Plan on using this going forward on all my day hikes, and probably one-night overnights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great Marmot is one of my favorite outdoor brands. I use it for everyday use as well as hiking. I pack kids soccer gear and change of clothes in it. I usually do weekend hikes and it works perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This backpack fit my grandson perfectly. My 11 year old grandson needed a good hiking backpack for a boy scout camping trip. Most of the hiking packs were too big for him but we needed one big enough for attaching his sleeping bag, mat, tent and camp chair. We were able to connect them all on the bottom and sides of this pack. It was a little difficult because of it being smaller due to his size but it worked out great for him. The young man that helped us in finding the right pack and size was very knowledgeable in this department and helped us a lot. He was very courteous and patient and very helpful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag for women I bought this bag and found it to work very we'll for women. I'm 5'4 and little and it fit in all the right places. I agree, I would have liked some outside pockets, but I fit three days worth of gear in it. I'm a pretty light packer. I've invested in the smaller and lighter weight gear and found it to be worth it. For the price and weight, it's worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Mid volume bag I haven't cycled through dozens of bags in my hiking career, so I can't compare this one to others, but this bag is my go to overnight bag, day hiking bag and gear bag for multi-day car adventures. I own the aspen in all black. I also own other Marmont products and have always found them to be of high quality. The name brand price and over all construction first drew me to this bag. Some of the other posters have given this bag negative reviews based on not having this or that or that the size is small. It's only a 35L bag and meant for short trips and not for multi-week hiking. If you're a serious minimalist you could squeeze a week out of this bag. Yes, it would be nice to have a couple of external mesh pockets. The 35L is pretty much all one big cavity and a creative and experienced backpacker can squeeze a lot out of this bag. The small useless pockets on the lower sides I think are supposed to allow you to carry skis? I've only been able to tuck my tent poles into them and then secure them. I also wish you they were large enough to tuck the end of a sleeping mat while securing them down the side. Yes, there are no hip belt pockets like the website suggests.I do like the upper gear stash and found the compartments to be well laid out, useful and swallow gear. I like the one buckle cinch system for the top lid. The shoulder straps and waist belt hit me in the right places and I'm 6'2". One of the other posters mentioned how the bag cinches close to your body and I concur. It's low profile and you feel secure while on the trail. While the biggest hang up is that it doesn't have external pockets there are plenty of places to hook a carabineer. Personally I don't like a bunch of stuff jostling around outside my pack, but you can engineer some additional storage.
