I bought this because I was in need of a waterproof jacket. I have another jacket that is waterproof, but it is very heavy and is designed for use in colder conditions. I wanted a waterproof jacket that is lightweight and packable. This jacket is exactly that! It fits into my suitcase and backpack without issue, and I can wear it even in warmer temperatures because it is so breathable.

Great Design, But…
I have been looking for a light weight hiking jacket that also serves as a rain jacket and wind breaker. Good for layering in cold weather and vented for warm weather. Also packable. This seemed to meet all of the check boxes but when i got it, i did not like the plastic noisy crackling of the material The stiffness was also uncomfortable. Back to searching😕 if that is not a problem For you, this jacket may be a great purchase.

Great Jacket, But...
I love the PreCipice Eco Jacket and have several in different colors. I'm 5'5", 125 pounds and wear a large to fit sweaters underneath. It's slightly tapered, which gives a slenderizing appearance and hits just below the buttocks. My only disappointment/complaint is the white lining/coating starts to disintegrate and flake after a few years, which causes white specks all over my clothing....not pretty....and thus the 4 star rating.

Finally Replacing My Previous Model

Functional Quality Ran Jacket

My last marmot had a slightly more flattering fit and cut, but I didn't know the name of the style. At the end of the day, I'm going for a functional rain jacket that's roomy enough for layering and can pack down into a hiking backpack. I normally wear a size 6 and medium fits well even with broader shoulders. It holds up well in moderate rain, though I haven't had a chance to wear it during downpours.
