Excellent Glove
I played softball in high school and college, then took a ~10 year hiatus after having kids. I'm 34 now and got into adult slow pitch a couple years ago, still using my high school glove 😬 it did the job for a season, but I knew I had to get something better. I'm a utility player - I'll play second, third, left and right center, and occasionally first, so I was conflicted on what size and type of glove I needed. My original glove was 12", but I wanted something slightly bigger when I'm in the outfield, but not too big to get in the way in the infield. I had my eyes on this specific glove (among 3-4 others - some in the $250+ range) online and went into my local Dicks to see their selection. Of the ones I'd narrowed it down to, this Marucci Acadia was the only one in stock at the store and it was love at first sight. This glove is INCREDIBLE. It is soft, it's supple, it's beautiful, and it's game ready - no break in required. I finally convinced my husband to start playing again and he was still using his 20-year old glove. He played outfield during a Men's tournament and I told (forced) him to try my glove - he was shocked at how much he loved it. He also assumed it was in the more expensive range and was pleasantly surprised when he found out it was under $100. Before the game was even over he told me he wanted one, just in a different color (to easily tell the difference). For Christmas I ordered him the Marucci Acadia M Type 12.5" with the alternating dark brown/light brown leather, assuming it would be the same glove in a different color, but it feels like a completely different glove. It's stiffer, feels so much smaller on the inside, and isn't nearly as comfortable to wear. All of this to say, we will have 2 of the light-colored Marucci Acadia 12.5" gloves for adult slow-pitch softball - 1 for me, and 1 for the husband. It's a great all-around glove that I will never get tired of using!
